Should Senna's FW16 be restored to normal?
If Ayrton Senna's FW16 were to be put in a museum, I think they should restore it to the way it was on the grid before the start. I mean, you couldn't show the car in its state after the crash. What do the rest of you think?

i personally dont think they should display the car at all,
if they were to restore it then it would be no different to another fw16 surely they have others.....and anyway i find it quite disturbing that people should want to see a car that a person died in............ |

there is no way the williams team would ever display that car, so restoring it is not an option in my opinion!

No way can they restore it, it shouldn't be displayed at all. Williams are doing the right thing by hiding it away.
RIP Ayrton. |

As above - the display would only benefit people with a morbid curiostity.
Any FW16 can be viewed. |

Hell no. Don't touch it, don't do anything to it. Patrick should throw a tarp over it and hide it someplace only he and Frank know about. Let it decay peacefully.

Restore it? Why? When they have so many more FW16 chassis...why make another damaged one to look like it and losing the significance?
Display it for public? Nah...its no good either... But neither do i think it should be destroyed or hide...but to be kept at Williams as a memory of a great driver, and also a reminder of the dangers of F1. |

Destroy it. This is one piece of history we all want to forget. No sane person can want to remember the day when the greatest driver of the modern age was taken from us.

you sure ???...i think you will find it was only the helmet that was destroyed , as that was the property of the senna family , unlike the chassis which obviously belongs to frank and patrick.

There are conflicting reports about whats happenned to it. Didn't a Williams spokesman say they were still deciding what to do with it? I think Autosport have got it wrong.

It definitely should be destroyed. What's the point of hanging on to things that just bring back bad memories? Who would want to go and see it in a museum? Well not me anyway.
What happened to the car Roland Ratzenberger (the poor guy that died the day before) was driving? |

why should it be???
it is an important piece of F1 history and should be preserved as just that. a lot of you are letting emotion get in front of common sense |

I wouldn't know what to do with it but I disagree with your comments about common sense calais.
Emotions drive our lives and so what if the car is a bit of history if the owners dont want to be reminded constantly of that event then who says they can't destroy it. His families emotions need to be taken into account too. How would you like it if someone wanted to parade a vehicle that your relative died in? The ultimate decision will come down to those who were close to him as they are the ones who will be affected most by it. I personally don't mind what they do with it as long as it isn't displayed or money made from it. That leaves either destroying it or locking it away for ever. |

i agree about the part stating that it shouldnt be displayed, but if i owned the williams team, i would keep it locked away somewhere as a remeinder of the teams history, both joyous, and in this case, tragic.
