Maybe but A) Corvette has fielded three cars in ALMS before @ Mosport 2007 b) the guy who mentioned that owns the a-w-e-s-o-m-e P&M Corvette chassis history archive site so his word tends to be thrustworthy
Maybe plans have changed. Or they lied. Or something Last edited by Deleted; 31 Jul 2014 at 19:56. |

Taisan is planning to run at Fuji in the WEC. No interest in AsLMS. |

Taisan actually had entries on the initial AsLMS entry list, but I guess they finally realized what crappy value for money that dead end series really is.
It's good to have one off entries for the WEC, makes the grid seem less sterile. But, if they don't aim to run anywhere next season and only do Fuji now, I'm not sure how they expect to get entry for LM next year. Bottom at the reserves at best |

Two words. Asian team. There aren't many of them and the ACO tries everything in their power to invite Asian teams to potentially make endurance racing attractive in Asia.

Yet Taisan only got themselves to the reserve list this year, despite actually running full AsLMS last year (with actual ACO eglible machinery too, unlike Craft and all the other Asian teams bar P2s)

What comes to eligibility, ACO should reserve the 56th Le Mans garage in 2015 for a DP team. It's a showcase for new technology...so...tube frame...N/A cross plane V8....

It would be best if the 56th entry will be a team from either DTM or Super GT. If not, close the 56th Garage. |

Well IMSA type cars had there own class at Le Mans during the 80s apparently. If they can upgrade there safety perimeters of course, then why not?
I would like to see a experimental DP with a Carbon Chassis |

lol Great advertising for AsLMS. A good Asian team like them having no interest in their local series, despite the series desperately wanting teams like them to race in AsLMS. Bravo.... |

Is it actually certain that DP wouldn't pass the crash tests? Just asking because I have no idea. I'd like to see one at Le Mans, just because, you know, we could actually see the G56 car running after two years of total failure.

Okay having a car that doesn't pass FIA crash tests would be stupid, but in principle, how exactly would running @ Circuit de la Sarthe which now has / will have asphalt runoffs at approx 85% of the corners/straights be any more dangerous than at bumpy unadulterated Sebring with infinitely thicker traffic density (not to mention LMPCs causing havoc...), or at the streets of Long Beach? Yeah the top speeds would be higher, but not that much more so than at say Road America or Mosport. Not that I would ever want to see DP at LM, but still. Will we ever watch the Deltawing competing with the ZEOC? That would be the a battle of G56 ugly titans. One that WEC must see.

A DP at Le Mans? Seriously?
I mean, you guys saw what happened to the Gainsco car at Daytona..right? It'd be great if they let a GT3 car run as G56. Something that will actually finish the race, and something that may restart GTE/GT3 convergence talks i.e. much more relevant to motorsport. |

I'm not so sure any car could withstand that incident without having a similar outcome (injured driver). Usually race cars don't run into stationary objects at full speed so they don't really plan for it, just like how cars usually don't crash into certain sections of Le Mans (until they do).

Awesome! I see the third car has it's forks down at ground level so it appears to be running the low downforce aero |

But a regularly GT3 (except the Z4), running in a low-downforce version would just outperform every GTE... Especially in Le Mans, considering the better downforce / drag ratio of the GT3 cars and the more horsepower. And there would be another problem: The better Topspeed would make the LMP2 cars very happy....
