Waterbeach, Cambs?

Hi All,

Does anybody have any experience of this circuit?

I have an event there next month, and its just occurred to me that I've no idea what to expect. Its only my second sprint so I'm still a touch on the nervous side

I've looked in the wiki and had a search on here, general internet searches and even a look for video's on youtube with no luck.

I will be the first to admit I'm an IT numbty though, so I've probarly missed something really obvious.

Any pointers or info would be great, cheers. I think it could be an airfield track by the way.

I believe Waterbeach has been used for trackdays and some motorcycle sprints. My gues is that the sprint you are refering to is one of the Toyota series, which appears to be run on track-day lines i.e. non-MSA sanctioned events

It has, cheers for that.

It is a TSS sprint- does that mean I shouldn't really be posting in here? Sorry about that I'm new

Just spoke to a relative who's based at the Waterbeach camp & he can't think of anywhere that would be suitable. There is an area in the camp grounds he thinks but the surface leaves a lot to be desired.

jolly pain in the backside- thanks for that.

many thanks

No probs Dan.
Can you come back & let me know where abouts it is in Waterbeach so I can tell relative. What it's like etc? It might not be on the camp but don't think there's a lot else in the place.
Have a good day, be safe & enjoy.

Hi Col,

The sprint was situated on the airfield approaching the access road, first left off the A10 on denny lane.

Its hard to say exactly where it was after going on site as i even struggled to find my way out after the event

The organisers mapped out a cone gate / coned track type mile long sprint track, which was much better than expected. i really enjoyed it, had a good, safe day

As for the surface I think the cones took you away from the very bad bits, but even so there were a couple of rutts and mudbaths (partially the bad weathers fault) to make it interesting! All the competitors cars looked like we'd been rallying rather than sprinting afterwards
