According to Autosport Minardi have a new sponsor in the form of Leaseplan for next year. The deal was apparently put together by Marc Gene's management team, which would lead me to believe that he is certain to stay with the team.

Marc Gene, in my opinion, is a really skiled driver, maybe even as good as salo or frentzen or someone. He is definantly better than Diniz, Mazzacane and maybe even Luca Badoer from 1999

It could do him more good to take the Williams test seat he has apparently been offered. But then of course there's the chance that he'd be exiled in 'test driver land' forever...
I think he deserves a seat at a better team (no offence meant to Minardi fan, of course!) like Sauber. He's a whole lot better than Diniz, anyway! |

Yeah he always does his best in the Minardi, so if he could find a seat with a reliable car it would show how talented he really is!!

If he's given a more reliable car with a better engine (hint: a Sauber...
 ), he could score points on a regular basis and through his skill instead of people dropping out.

I don't know whether M Gene is a good driver or not. But one thing is for sure if he didn't come with a good sponsor he surely wouldn't have a seat for 2001.

But Gene still has a contract with minardi for a few years. And with Heidfeld and Raikonen at Sauber I'm sure we'll see him at Minardi next year. Wich is good for Minardi and won't do much harm to Gene either. He'll get a good car some day.
