It's hardly fair to compare a series with one class with a series with nominally 5 classes... If GT1 had 8 cars, you'd have a point. In absolute numbers FIA GT numbers have despite dropping ("runining") GT2 declined only very slightly if at all over last season.

But that was a response to the bashing of the Hungaroring grid size and not an attack, per se, on GT-1 (even though I am not thrilled with Le Rat about it).

Fair enough.

I'd rather bash the Hungaroring entry for a lack of quality - except for GT2, anyway...

I also disagree with that! I find most of the grid to be of a caliber that is just fine. The only cars I find as less than my expectation are GT-1. They are quite fine for what they are, it is what they are that I have issue with. And before you go saying I have double standards, FLM is a subordinate class vs GT-1 supposed to being the top GT class.

I was looking at the entry list and noticed that all of the FLM cars are listed as "Formula Le Mans Oreca 09" except the Hope Polevision cars are listed just as "Formula Le Mans". Is that actually a difference in build year, or no difference at all?

Result of a merger with Italian GT stalwarts MIK Corse? A number of the current drivers have driven for MIK as well in the past...

Just noticed that RLR went with Judd (DB I assume) rather than the AER XP-21.

A wise decision.

Also noticed the 3rd Felbermayr car is 2007 spec.

That must be a misprint (usually very reliable source), as on close exam of the phote at E.I. it seems to have the bodywork for the AER w/Turbo.

Dagys from Speed.com says that gasoline LMP1s may've been given another air restrictor break for Hungaroring.

Strakka second quickest overall, behind the Pug, in first free practice. Strakka must have a genuine chance of an overall podium here.

The #13 Rebellion only completed 5 laps.......does anyone know why?

If the #4 oreca retires, perhaps even for overall win? Still almost 2 seconds faster than Rebellions in FP2.

Qualifying has started (what a weird schedule). 1-2 for AF Corse, #96 on GT2 pole. The missing Atlas Saleen actually showed up, but all they did was cause yellow flag.

What is it about this weekend, first ALMS and now LMS.

Strakka on overall pole and the Oreca Peugeot 4th. FANTASTIC.

Thank goodness for RLM

Nick

(so Horndawg, is that extra points in the prediction comp for Strakka's overall pole as well as LMP2? )
