Not getting at the current drivers/teams at all. We just need more of them... I suggest that every team that would like the pits moved to the outside at Teretonga should send an email to advise the club of your opinions.. (Nicely |

Suzuki pay for their coverage, and so do the Ute guys. MSNZ adds nothing to the kitty as far was I know. And that's why the support classes suffer from lack of TV, unless they have a class sponsor (hello Geoff, isn't that your job?) |

When I ran in SS2000 in 2009, my business also sponsored the series for the year. TV coverage was 10k a round which the class had to fund itself.
This was paid for out of membership fees and top ups from sponsors of the class. Not cheap for a class that was all about cost saving racing. The end result was crap coverage and to many ads. Never paid for again under TMC. The move to IRC reduced theses costs I'm sure. Note TMC shareholder has a finger in the pie for the production house for TMC tv. Pay to race, pay to watch, pay to record to watch later. |

The financials at TMC seem a bit of a mystery. Apparently, TMC management refuse to disclose to their major shareholder (MSNZ members) how much Mr Short and Mr Cooper "earn" from TMC activities - I suppose its because they are embarrassed that it is so little.

Isn't it time this 'boil' was lanced? As for the mega-plan http://www.nzracer.com/exciting-tran...pionships.html (Prepared/Released by Dinnis Communications. That name seems strangely familiar...? Can't think why. I'm sure he's the best chap for the job.) Prospective Sponsers think long and hard about where they spend their money. This half arsed plan wouldn't give me a scrap of confidence. How embarrassing. |

It was a package put together by TMC and Volt tv. 3 races from one round filmed using 2 fixed camera locations. Incar you had to pay extra for which I did at a additional $500 per vehicle. 1 mid event interview with a driver in the pits. I also did my five minutes of fame on sky sport being interviewed by Clint Brown. Race commentary was done by Clint Brown and a ex Ss2000 racer in the studio a week later. Was aired 3 times on speed week All up there was about 9 minutes of racing, 3 minutes of interviews, We where delivered what was offered but the end result left a sour taste in the clubs mouth for tv coverage going forward. |

i have a mate that has access to things so not going to drop him in the do do's, i also heard the word that Bargs got one lap in the 29's but not confirmed by the transponder that was on the Mitchell car. Maybe they took the transponder off and just went with the old nod nod wink wink, anyway I dont know why they would be all secret squirrel about the new taxi, if it was fast they would all be crowing by now, especially the self appointed boss of this thread.

If outright pace was the major concern for spectators, then the Gt3's would be more popular than Supercars and TRS would be the conutries most popular form of motorsport.... and that's far from the case.
It is interesting that Bargs appears getting a lot of laps in the new car. I thought Edgell was going to be the 'offical' test driver? |

Correct. Andrew Mackenzie, who owns the car, said Edgel was the man to do the testing but there has been very little said since then. I find that a bit odd.

and why on earth would the transponder be removed? they were testing (the new box etc) not trying to break lap records. |

I don't think that was the point he was trying to make. Edgell was announced as the official test driver and we've had no reported tests by him as of yet? Definitely agree that its an advantage to let Bargs have a run in the car to see where its at.

maybe Edgell had work commitments that day? who knows? who's to say he won't do the bulk of the testing. it's not like he was ever going to be the only driver to test the new car.

Or maybe they trying to sell Bargs a car.
How many laps has the car done? is it at the point where they would be chasing lap times? Or is it still in the "wtf spring do we use" stage? |
