Nick49 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Now if we were back in the days when teams ran two cars it might not be quite so drastic for the team. All that way for nothing or is that just an initial reaction. Remember Henri Pescarolo at Silverstone last year when he wanted to pack up but the team got the car going again.

Fact is, the second car should have been here but isn't quite finished!

Is it a money problem, not enough team personnel or something else that seems to stop the Sportscar teams being properly ready for the start of the season? We are at the second of only five races after all. On the face of it this might sound a bit harsh and might not apply to all teams of course. Just doesn't seem very professional. (And all this from someone who only races slot cars )

Are the factory C70's now running the new aero package which was mentioned at Istanbul? They're showing some good pace now.

There will be some rain on Sunday. So the cars running on Michelin (Pescarolo and Zytek) will have an advantage. Last year the Courages really suffered on their Yokohama rubber.

During the second practice session another dramatic crash happened. The Larbre Aston Martin got heavily damaged and it looks like they will have to retire as well (3 car already).

The new aero package of the Lister seems to have the opposite effect: the renewed nose should more downforce, but it is producing less. Therefore the car is much slower than expected.

Quote:
The front end has got a major overhaul with the aim of improving the downforce in the corners, but when the car hit the tarmac on Friday afternoon, things took a different direction.

“The problem is that we have ended up heading in the wrong way as regards the front. Even though the data indicates that the mods should lead to improvements, the lap times say something different,” Jens Moller explains. “We are lacking downforce to put it short. We knew that we would be three seconds after the faster cars like the Pescarolo, but we are eight seconds behind.”
If I am not mistaken the engine of the Lister produces more power now.

Qualy predictions?

Mine:

P1 Pesca (just)
P2 Zytek
P3 Courage (J-M.G)

I really think this Zytek BEAST is going to do superbly this weekend - not sure why but had a similar feeling last year!

Im impressed with the LC70's ..... but im not sure about their reliability over 1000 kliks or indeed 24 hours ?

Nice to see that 550 still at the top end , but i thought it would be !!!

Creation seem to have something in common with Dyson ..... just a lot of bad luck a lot of the time . Best of luck to them .

Why did they put a roof on only 1 of the Spykers ? Much prefer the open car , kane car .

I believe it's actually the 85 car of Mike Hezemans. According to DSC, the car has new shocks and suspension which they are testing at Spa. The developments will subsequently be transferred to the 86 (which will be a new chassis) in time for Le Mans. Interesting that the 'roofed' car found an extra three seconds in practice over the sister car, that's a considerable margin.

Seems the 86 Spyker found similar pace to the 85 in third Free Practice.

Pescarolo quickest agin and now around last years pole time in the 2:06's, but third quickest overall in this session was the Barazi Epsilon C65 in the 2:10's. Looks increasingly as if that Istanbul result was no fluke!
