The Winter Trial

Does anyone know more about this?

I came back from Antwerp this morning when I overtook two UK reg, old plates Classic Cars on the motorway.
One was a big engined black Mercedes (nice sounding too) and an Alfa Romeo typ ??? in full rally trim. Both were displaying "The Winter Trial" rallyplates at the back, accompanied by a small startnumber.

I did find some info about a 2006 trial starting from Holland, but is it the same?

Its a bit like the original Monte,I know that there used to be different start, points ,Paris etc. A fantastic event by all accounts.

To make something clear: I wasn't speeding (for once ), they were going slow.

It looked like they were having a leisurely drive at that moment, but if it is something like the Monte used to be: must be great. Thanks Terry.

The winter trial is organised by Bart Rietbergen, a well known historic rally driver how is now more into events. among those events he organises the Concours d'elegance at Royal Palace "het Loo" . They even have a smal hillclimb. So if you want to try your 35b or 37 you can have a nice day there!!
