VEEGA = Vee Eight Entrants Group Association. It is a limited liability company owned by the 28 franchise holders

Here is an interesting news item from a couple of years ago that may throw some light on a few things now currently happening

Is it now? A quick search of the Companies Office website shows no such company exists (neither VEEGA which has been struck off or Vee Eight Entrants Group Association). So does it go by some other name? And if there are no longer 28 franchises (since there only seem to be 9 entrants), exactly how many are there and who owns them?

My understanding of VEEGA (and I may be wrong of course) is that it was owned something like fifty-something percent by TMC and forty-something percent by the actual race entrants. Someone might like to clarify this though??

Veega has been dissolved, was a joint venture between tmc and v8 entrants... etc. Not sure what the split ownership wise was but has resorted back to parent company, NZV8s ltd.

The link for part 3 of the #003X chassis build.

Times are tough in the world of V8 racing, and certain people haven't helped the situation, but I think MSNZ is doing what they can to save their number 1 class and if that means buying the jigs etc for the new car, then so be it. They don't want repeat of their first idea walking out the front door (ST).
making progress...

That adds to about 100 entries - compare this with over 350 entries for this weekends NZ Festival of Motor Racing (historic and classic cars) at Hampton Downs ............. I wonder if MSNZ are confused as to where the strength of NZ motor sport really is?

Can anyone enlighten me as to why Hampton Downs remains excluded from the "Tier 1" calendar?

I can't enlighten you too much on that count, but I've heard many things said about gate sales, apartments (taking away gate sales), business (read money - TMC) ahead of sport.....

Someone will know more...

I would much rather attend a skope or SI club meet than a Tier 1 or ST round!

Could be something to do with Hampton Downs (or their associated club HRC) not being a shareholder in TMC when the other shareholders (apart from MSNZ) are SSCC (Teretonga), SCCC (Timaru), CCC (Ruapuna), MCC (Manfield), TCC (Taupo) and NZIGP (Pukekohe).

And that Hampton Downs made no application to host a Tier 1 round preferring as I understand it to focus their efforts on the Historic scene at that time of the year

Ah, only when it is pretending to be the top level of motor racing in the country.

Everyone loves dinosaurs when they are promoted as dinosaurs, however when the attempt is made to market them as racehorses then there are problems...

Yes could well be that, wonder if they were ever invited to become shareholders in TMC though, or whether it came down to personalities again like it often seems to.

Or maybe they didn't want to become shareholders in TMC, probably if it was up to me I wouldn't want a bar of it.

Adds weight to earlier statements about it not being a level playing field out there, though, doesn't it?

Having re-read some info to hand I think I have most of the picture now...

VEEGA was the company owned by the franchisees of the NZV8's, they were 50/50 owners with TMC of NZV8's Limited. Then for some reason a disagreement happened and I am told that TMC terminated their shareholding in the above company, and the entire board of VEEGA resigned and went on to form V8ST.

So now there is no VEEGA, and no NZV8's Ltd either from what I can see.

Exactly whom owns what now in the BNT V8's I really don't know. What happens next season I also don't know.

But it is sure to be interesting...

Interesting video, shows how much abuse the front left gets at Pukekohe.
