Well, The Pizzaman and I gave each other the same Mini MagLight Gift Boxes, so that was a little indicative of us both being marshals - Oh how we laughed when we opened them at the same time...

Just one..... myself and Witchy were posted together on Post 4 last year for it and believe me, those minimag lights would have come in very handy...

beacon....... no beacon.... beacon......

Must say one of the high lights of my year in marshalling

No wonder you sent a party to Petit Le Mans this year, but isn't marshalling at night just the greatest. Roll on LeMans.

My mom, who is an ex-marshal, always gives me great worker gifts for Christmas. This year I got fancy footbath stuff that's supposed to make your feet and legs feel better after a day (or weekend) standing on the hard ground. My better half thought it was a silly present but I was thrilled. Just like I was thrilled when she gave me Mechanix gloves last year... so thoughtful!

And what was I doing while she was watching that? A 6,000 mile service on her car, that's what!

Hope you enjoyed it Gonfra, the film was good drama, and the untold story very poignant for me. My father was involved in the actual escape, and fortunately survived, though ended the war still a prisoner in Stalag VI.

Remember these stories are based on real life. Many men did not make it back, we should remember them too.

Not wanting to paint a black picture on this though. Many years later my father met the German crew who shot him down , and all agreed they were acting as proper professionals at the time. Both my father, who pased away 3 years ago and myself are now proud to count many Germans as our friends.
