Yeah, I had it mixed up with the 'Burnout' Mustang Herrod built for Ford. Which was red with Ford Racing plastered all over it.

I only know of the local team driving the standard Impreza as being a 100% entry at this time. However, I do believe if Mr Seton can keep his 370Z in one piece in the Adelaide Rally, and the proper funding can be arranged, he will drive the same car at the 12 Hour in 2010.

Other than the Subaru run by the local guys (Ex-Jim Hunter), this is all speculative based on recent news, rumours and assumptions from 2009
  • Rod Salmon and Damien White should be back with their Heaphy-run Evo. Not sure about the WA guys, but I think they'd be eager to reverse the order from 2009.
  • Steve Briffa has Holden Motorsport on his side now, so possibly a re-work of his HSV for the 12Hr with a couple of HMS co-drivers.... possibly the Holdsworths again?
  • HMS also testing the HSV Sportswagon lately, can't see any reason for that other than for the 12Hr and maybe a shakedown at Sandown for the finale of the Australian Manufacturers Championship in a month's time?
  • Holty has the BMW up for sale.... so maybe run it if they still have it, or is building (built?) something else?
  • Morcom still has his 335, so maybe drag it out for another run
  • Searles have their new 135i they are building
  • Sherrins have a 135i already built - I expect it would be Grant and Iain possible sharing with Dave Russell?
  • Al Shepherd and Peter O'Donnell's 130's should be there (Al's car having been repaired after the Eastern Creek practice shunt). Also probably lease out his Celica for a run?
  • Osborne Motorsport will have 2 Mazda 3 MPS's - can't see them skipping the race
  • Jake Camilleri's Mazda 3 MPS also should get a go too
  • Jeremy Gray has apparently upgraded his FG XR6T to Typhoon spec now, so it's also a possibility.
  • Waldens? Not sure, the old SS was a trooper, but I think it's now sold? Not sure if they have something to replace it with (yet)
  • Lauren Gray has the Corolla Sportivo they built up and Mick drove occasionally last year, but may go for a lease drivein something else instead?
  • Chris Delfsma has a change of direction for 2010, so the Falcon GT is on the market, or possibly leased out for next season - could partner Gray as they will team up for the Sandown mini-enduro.

Peter Conroy has a New Ralliart EvoX and will also enter both his integra's.
There is also talk of an Sti from WA that will be very well preped and driven.

I read somewhere that Chris Delfsma is interested in running in V8 touring car next year, is that true?
I was hoping Gray would upgrade his car to a F6, that car will be quick.

Other possibilities and rumours include,
  • Bob Holden - Toyota Yaris
  • Hyundai - i30, not sure whether diesel or petrol
  • Gerard Keogh - 3 - 4 enteries, not sure wether they will be all HSV's.
  • Wilson Brothers - pretty sure two subaru STI's
  • New Zealand entry - 1 - 2 BMW 130's
  • French team - Renault Clio
  • Jim Hunter - 2 x STI's, RS upgraded to STI
  • Chris Sexton - you'd have to think FG XR8 plus maybe BF XR6 turbo's
  • Robinson developments - FPV BF? Typhoon
The race should have well over 50 cars, going by the possibilities, (I hope)

Questions,
  1. Has anyone purchased the Osborne Celica's?
  2. Any word on VW entering a new R20?

Fantastic news. Thanks to Armor All for putting money into a fantastic event. Anybody have an idea or a rough estimate of how much it would cost Armor All to sponser the 12-Hour. Also, have WPS shut up shop for good?

Read in the local newspaper today, The Western Advocate, that apart from the Subaru Impreza in Class E driven by the locals (Newman/Windsor/Shiels), Bob Holden will enter a Toyota Yaris alongside Justin Mathews and Craig Bradshaw.
Class D will see Lauren and Michael Gray team-up to drive a Toyota Corolla Sportivo alongside a yet to be named third driver, and in Class C Scott O'Donnell will drive one of Alan Shephard's old BMW 130i's with Alan Dippie and Bob Grove.
Still just over 3 months to go and apparently entries are already looking very strong. Expect over 50 cars.

Also, it will be interesting to see how many potential entrants for the 12-Hour show up to do a little testing at SprintBathurst this week.

Want the goss?
  • We have our first international entry for the 2010 Event: – David Taylor from Motorsport Services NZ has entered a New Zealand based BMW 130i
  • Kiwi driver Andrew Fawcett is set to return in 2010 as part of the driving line up in Ted Robinsons new FPV FG F6 Turbo – Andrew drove for Ted’s team in the 2007 Event in a BF Typhoon
  • Father and daughter line-up Michael and Lauren Gray have put in an entry to race a Toyota
  • Bob Pearson has fully recoved from his 2009 incident and is again looking to field a competitive team to challenge for Outright honours
  • 2009 Yokohama V8 Ute Champion – Layton Crambrook – is said to be entering in the V8 Ute Class in his Championship winning “Mother Energy” drive, joining Grant Johnsons’ VE Holden Ute, and the new Ford FG of Ben Dunn and Andrew Fisher.
  • Sydney medico Dr Anton Mechtler is keen on a 2010 return following a strong run in the 2009 Event until a mis-fire plagued the team
  • Federal Tyres has just been added to the list of acceptable R Spec tyres eligible for Group 3E racing in 2010
