I'd guess the final list will depend on how people get on this weekend at Mondello - accidents and mechanical gremlins could impact the Croft list. It makes sense to wait until things become a bit clearer - otherwise it'd just have to be revised. On the other hand it must be cutting it fine for getting programmes printed off.

Looking at the entry list for the Croft RSS, I don't see a massive supercar or European driver presence as we were promised as a spectator. The RSS was hyped up to be a new era for rallycross in the UK, trying to act as an unofficial round of the European Championship and indeed trying to entice it back to our shores. So why aren't we seeing large fields of supercars and European entry? No Will, no Doran, no JMC. How has it gone wrong?

Just because organisers say they might have this driver and that driver they cannot guarantee that the drivers will make the event as they might have problems with their cars or other commitments.
The top brit boys said before that if the series looked good they would support it some way Look at Gollop hes off to do the ERC purely as a marketing tool for his business. You never know you might get drivers later on doing the series. Like I said before the Briitish rally championship is supposed to be the best championship we have but the National championship in my book is showing the way Go to the event first and give it a chance |

I take your point although I still feel let down by the marketing of the series bigging it up to be a showcase etc... don't get me wrong i hope it takes off, the more rallycross the better, but unless the big boys and euros are attracted then it will be a real let down especially the way it has been built up

The newsletter distributed at Croft in the winter said there would be eight contracted drivers

All promoters hype up events when they are trying to get them off the ground. I for one was a little critical of their plans at the begining but they have pulled back from the original plans to somthing more realistic, just like the BRDA & now we have had a sucessful start to the BRDA championship and it looks like the Super Series is going to start sucessfully. Onwards and upwards for rallycross Last edited by silver bullet; 26 Apr 2005 at 19:18. |

I think I touched on this hype promotion issue a while ago, and i hope the people involved can either get the people they want or issue a statement as to why they can not get the people they want as just leaving the whole issue alone makes people feel like they have been let down. Suffice to say their record is not good from the GP. But give them a chance, this is all new.
I am writing from experience of doing exactly the same thing, albeit in rallycross but the impact is just as relevant |

There has been some broken promises by the RSS with regards entry fee's too. I quote from there first news flyer
"The entry fee for each of the five rallycross super series events will be £150 for all classes" This has risen to £175 and the promise of european drivers and Televised coverage seems to have fallen by the wayside. This now makes it more expensive for the standard stockhatch driver to compete in these events compaired to the BTRDA championship. I know it's not a huge amount of money, but if you make promises then you should stand by them. Having said all this, let's give them chance to get the first event out of the way and see how the whole day run's. Fingers crossed it should be a cracking day and let all help by pull in the right direction. More competitors and events can only be good for the sport si |

Its polotics Si, just like the up and coming election everyone tells us what they hope/ would like to do in a perfect world, knowing that realisticly they might not be able to deliver. If they tell the whole truth of what might happen they will never get chance to try.
From small acorns and all that, it's happening, good luck to them. Last edited by silver bullet; 27 Apr 2005 at 10:46. |

Must agree with the above three comments.
Lets wait and see what happens and give all the organisers and promotors our support. From the spectators point of view more meetings = more great days out Good luck to all of you who are racing, marshalling or assisting in some way. |
