That is all great news. Damian is a fantastic driver, and greatly underrated, in my opinion. Also, I'm glad to hear Tom Kimber-Smith has re-joined Greaves.

In advance to the big announcements on February 1st, I'd like to thank everyone who has commented constructively and helpfully, especially Aysedasi, Simmi, Victor_RO, The Badger, CTD, and Jacques Rabbit, whose help made this thread great. Good job to you all! With my relatively low knowledge of the minor proceedings happening in the Endurance Racing world that isn't top headlines, I couldn't have created a respectable entry list without all of your help.

The big day is near. Knowing that 71 entries were lodged, 41 LMP and 30 GT, anyone care to speculate on car counts in each class of accepted entries?
I would guess 10 LMP1, 22 LMP2, 14 GTE Pro, 9 GTE Am.

He's not under-rated at all , very much in demand to be honest . He was saying that as he is now racing with TRG in ALMS GTC , and that he hopes to impress KB and possibily a LM drive would be in the offing .

I think he stands a very good chance , if KB isnt running pay drivers that is .

Another surprise entry could be the BMW Z4 GTE, as we were talking about. I can see a really unique combination of Blancpain Endurance Series drivers, ALMS drivers, and DTM drivers. Le Mans is not on a DTM race week, so it is feasible for, really, any DTM driver to make Le Mans happen. If I had to come up with six drivers, I couldn't. But there's a very long list of good possibilities.

^ 8Star tweeted they have big news soon so who knows? Hopefully it's not the second car they have coming for Grand Am. I would hope to see a Le Mans entry as well as Sebring as a warmup with their LMP2 car.

According to this, expect Dempsey to show up in GTE this year. Of course, with what we still don't know but I expect some sort of European car.

Edit: Actually, the article confirms that Dempsey will be in GTE for the LM24.

Autosport digital edition confirms that SRT Viper have put in two entries for Le Mans and that one of their show cars will be in Paris for the announcement (along with some of the head people at SRT).

Was really gutted last year initially when Marc Goossens told me they weren't targeting the race for 2013. I guess plans change! Nice to see a factory step up and take it on.

Oh I do hope there are vipers there this year, we need cars that make your whole body shake as they go passed rather than the ultra quiet deisels, IMHO there should be a decibel limit that excludes cans below a certain figure rather that the other way round

The assumed support and step up from Honda never materialised. Another alarm bell as if their absence from the WEC wasn't bad enough.
