It's great to see that the LMP2 field is also igniting the fans, I had not seen this in a while in ALMS (except the "all against Audi" charges every now and agan) . Many teams, close racing but in the end Los Mexicanos will prevail!!!!

I have always enjoyed Long Beach GP. Watching the Speed World cars there is great.
Now with the ALMS cars, on this tight twisting portion and the long straights, this is one great street circuit. |

If my translation of the translation is correct; They will be on Dunlops and maybe only race 6 to 8 races this year!

It was always their plan to only run a partial season, although they'd really only be skipping one or two races.

Except that they weren't going to run a full season.

To be honest, after the Soup Kitchen Courages the solid appearance of any new team on an entry list has to be welcome. Fine, so they're not going to run every race, the title's not really what they're after. They will serve to keep Intersport and Autocon honest, and on the right track keep Audi from being too complacent, and it'll be really nice to have another diverse chassis out there, just as the old Lola's seeing the end of its days.
So... from at least one reader here, many welcomes to Cytosport, however many races you contest this year. |

Let's hope these privateer teams get the best out of their equipment.

The prediction thread this week is for Monza, not Long Beach.

Should've checked the schedule from the rules thread, never assume anything.

This is the shortest "endurance" race that I will have ever seen; and the shortest event since the inception of the ALMS. Just 100 minutes; but even scarier than that is the lack of practice time. Only one 45 minutes practice session in early morning conditions; and then on to the qualifying in the late afternoon (which is at like the race time the following day). Most of the competitors have never been on the course. Heck, some of them don't even have competition seat time in the car that they will be driving.
Special Rule: Each driver must complete at least 30 minutes or the entry will be excluded. It will be interesting to see what strategies the teams choose to go with. When do you put your faster driver in the car? What tires do you go with? can you make more than one stop and still contend? Can you run the whole race on the same set of tires? how fast could you do the driver change if you did not have to change tires and did not need to do full refueling? Could you use soft tires to qualify well; go light on fuel to start the race; try to run away from the competition; do your driver change and medium tires after 30 minutes. --- Man; this, all of a sudden, is begining to feel more like a formula one race than a sports car race. Every decision will be magnified in this short race. I hope that the broadcast will be able to keep up with everything that is going on. Any FCY that happens after 30 minutes and before the 1:10 mark could make and break results for teams in this race. I can't wait! almost forgot: My spotter's guide for the race is up at: The Last Turn Clubhouse I should have it updated again before the race with a better picture of the Cytosport car as well as fix the tire choice. Enjoy! |

i hope that livery wont be the final one for the cytosport lola B06/10 because its not exactly pretty to say the least, hopefully they ditch the orange/silver/white combo because it does not go well with one another.
maybe orange all over, hint hint RFH to 2005 hint hint |

Too bad I can't go, I was going to go, but I found out I work this Saturday and I didn't request for the day off...
So Media Center for the victory! Since the race will happen while I'm at work. It should be pretty exciting and I don't wanna hear any nonsense from those that rather have 6 hours endros every time out. |

Well, my 210,000 mile Subaru survived the trip down from San Francisco, and I'm here at my sister's place in Santa Monica. Can't wait to get to the track tomorrow, and see these fabulous cars hit the track at 9am!

Racingfanatics has a photo of interesting splitter on #21 PTG Panoz. #22 car seems to have old shape. For reference here's LNT car at Paul Ricard.
