European Hillclimb Eligibility
Am considering moving to Mallorca and would like to continue doing speed events in my Elise, which would mean hillclimbs, as they don't have sprints over there.
However, a glance at the regs for these hillclimbs doesn't seem to tell me whether my car would be eligible; there are classes for Groups N, A, CM?, etc, but the Elise, as far as I know, does not have FIA homologation in any of these classes. One class is for 'Formula Libre' but I guess this means single seater race cars. Anyone have any ideas about this, and whether Elises are eligible for other European hillclimb events. Thanks, JP |

CM-Cars are small closed Sportsprototypes with Motorcycle Engines.
Your Elise should be eligible for Group GT I think. If not, a national Group H or Freestyle-Reglement should be the right thing. But I'm not so firm with the situation in Spain. Here is a Video of a Hillclimb at Mallorca: http://youtube.com/watch?v=2Lr4PkWqEXw&feature=related |
