Worst trophy ever to be given to a winner?
The one that immediately springs to mind is the "Sega Cup" presented to Ayrton Senna for winning the '93 European GP at Donington. Golden with a figure of Sonic the Hedgehog on it. What a vile object.
And as if that isn't bad enough, there was a nice big Sega logo on it. Poor Ayrton. Last edited by Kex; 21 Aug 2002 at 23:16. |

All of them, they are all too big...the ones that are shaped like wheels and the like are stupid, was is wrong with a 'cup' type trophy. But it doesn't matter really.

The Marlboro steering wheels are stupid, in my opinion. On the other hand the glass plates of Imola are great.

Ahhh... the steering wheels are just great... I remember one of the Spanish GP that eventually was a Mac 1-2. And Ron only to be awarded with 2 Ferrari steering wheels.....

I certainly do not agree with these new steering-wheel trophies - a trophy is supposed to be some sort of cup thing!!!
I remember they also used to hand out crystals that looked more like a giant vase than a trophy! |

I think that the Marlboro steering wheels are hideous, though the enameled red monstrosities given at Suzuka run a close second.

I liked the steering wheels when they were first introduced, but then everyone jumped on the bandwagon and they are now too common and old hat!
Does anyone remember what the trophey was like that Prost "gave away" and made Ron so livid? |

I despise the Marlboro steering wheels. The trophies I like are the Air Canada ones for the Canadian GP.

Why did Prost give it away?
And doesn't it say in the rules that the trophy should be in the shape of a trophy, ie a cup? |

I hate sponsor trophies. Like the Ferrari steering wheels at Marlboro races, or the Glass Mobil 1 horses at Mobil 1 races

After the Monza incident Alain ordered a copy, but couldn't find a proper moment to give it to Ron. They were not exactly the best friends... He gave it to him at a Christmas, in 1995, and altough Ron was touched he also said that "it was not the same"... Speaking of sponsors trophies and since the title of the topic is "worst of them" how about this one? Last edited by Red; 24 Aug 2002 at 08:55. |

It's alright, but it doesn't look quite right as a GP trophy...
