BRC - Full TV Coverage!!

I hear its confirmed that Irish company, On the limits sports will be recording and broadcasting all round of the BRC starting in Lydden. Great news for the BRC. I have seen some of the Irish rounds on Setanta, in particular the last round where they showed Alistar McRae scorching McCluskey's Xsara around Mondello

Motors TV are confirmed but another major channel are also in negotiations I believe

Ok.. where's Nittiwhacky with the negative comments..wait for it!...

Excellent news for the BRXC! Roll on Lydden!
I watched the highlights of the RSS meeting and IMHO it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Where was the stock hatch and minicross highlights and the podium shots for all at the end? I think the half hour could possibly be better organised but then again who am I to say!

The above comments are the opinions of B Friendly.

Whoever you are RallyX Are you disapointed that nobody has had anything bad to say, how can something good cause bad comments, we now have a BRC with TV and Superseries with TV all we need in the future is for everyone to get together and we will have British Rallycross that would be the envy of Europe with TV fighting for it or maybe you dont want that, you just want conflict, ever thought of trying being a war monger! and leave Rallycross to those who actually want better!

Actually steve, I think u will find I have the BRC and rallycross in general close to heart!!
I have alot of views on the relationship between the BRC and RSS but I choose to keep them to myself. One day maybe the RSS will join the BRC, and I look forward to that day.
A forum is meant for peoples views and opinions, so dont knock people for giving them.
But anyway back to the subjuct,
Its great that the BRC have TV! welldone! and i look forward to Lydden

thats great news, performing for the camera !If you look at some of the cr@p that gets slots on motors tv I can't see why Rallyx would only get 1/2 an hour.

Is Rallycross going to get it's seperate slot or will it be incorporated in that whiney Race & Rally UK programme? Motors TV is becoming better and better I think. Lots of interesting (live) broadcasts and series they got coming up. Especially the Le Mans 24 hours non-stop! And Rallycross, which is means it's well worth the money no matter what else they are going to broadcast.

Can some-one please tell me why rallycross needs to be on satalite tv. The amount of drivers that gain increased sponsorship due to tv is so small - but the increase in entry fee is huge for every-one.

There are very few national companies sponsoring rallycross cars - all i can thing of is esso, and how much extra oil are they expecting to sell through carnige being on tv. Most other driversthat have sponsorship get it from there own company, family company or companies that there own business do trade with, and tv will not help. How much building work will Mundy Construction get through tv and how many caravans do Adlington Caravans expect to sell through exposure to tv - zero.

Most drivers want cheap entries, and yes it is nice to be seen on tv - but not worth £150 / per meeting.

Short circuit racing gets very little tv and they have good entries at most meetings, especially hot rods and stock rods which are similar to the rallycross modifieds and stock hatch.

Simple question - where do you get your £150 / per meeting from as best I can see the Supercars pay £30 per meeting.

Because if the sport isn't on TV it doesn't really exist at all. If we want to raise the profile of the sport, get in new drivers, spectators and get coverage in the national press it is essential. Its £30 well spent - I still follow the sport because I started watching it as a kid on TV in the late 70s...

Lack of regular TV coverage is one of the major reasons short oval motorsport in the UK never took off in the way it did in the US.

Well done to everyone who sorted out these deals - great to see rallycross back
