The latest News from SBD .....
Kim is still very cheerful and had a check-up last week at the hospital. They are very pleased with her progress and don't want to see her for another 3 weeks. Hopefully when she does go back they will allow her to put weight onto one leg and she may even be issued with crutches - which will make life much easier. |

Some more news from Kim:
Unfortuately, the visit to the hospital didn't go so well, still can't use crutches & I've got to go back in 2 weeks for more x-rays. Can you thank everyone for the flowers for me? Although we'll all be registering for the British Sprint, I'm not quite sure what's happening next year. Steve's getting the car fixed but not sure when it'll be finished, however he's been offered share drives by a few people. I am sure that we all continue to wish Kim the best in her fight to get back behind the wheel and that this minor setback is just that! |

Good to hear that Kim is doing well, but I feel it is better to heal properly (even if it takes a couple of weeks longer) than to rush things along. Keep your chin up and hope to see you at Cadwell next year preferably driving but if not just there.

Sprint Championship Awards Evening
Kim Kingham and Steve Broughton put in an appearance at the British Sprint Awards evening at Kidderminster on Saturday. As Steve wheeled Kim into the room there was spontaneous applause.
Kim picked up the Patsy Burt award for the Top Lady Competitor in the championship and also one of the TWO Rear of the Year awards! Today Kim should be back at hospital having X-rays and seeing the specialist and would like to be given the go-ahead to start using crutches. She is feeling much better and is still astonished at all the support and good wishes she has recieved. As usual there was a raffle held, the proceeds raised have been rounded up to £200.00 by the BMSA and a cheque sent to Lincolnshire Air Ambulance in recognition of the wonderful job they did back in September. Kim was also very complementary about the hospital in Lincoln where she recieved such expert treatment. As we move into the Winter I will keep pestering SBD for updates on Kim's condition and I feel sure everyone in the sport wishes her a speedy recovery. |
