No , Sebring is an ex USAF training base , Hendricks field it was once called . As far as I know the currat track is just that , a track and doesn't share anything with the local airport .

Penguin driving a car through the Arizona desert , car breaks down , penguin gets a pickup to local garage and retires to an ice cream parlour to bury his hot face in a big vanilla ice cream . Penguin turns up at garage with vanilla ice cream all over his face ..... mechanic says "looks like you have blown a seal" ..... penguin says "No , its vanilla ice cream" !!!

Mr. Alternating Current was taking petty childish potshots at Sebring International Raceway because he hates all things not Rolex--all in good fun, we can be sure.

JHamilton was jesting in return ... "paved with baby seals" is sort of a takeoff on the Greenpeace campaign of the early '80s and many others since, which drew attention to the practice of brutally clubbing and skinning (often while alive) baby fur seals for their pelts.

Basically "paved with baby seals" is a creative way to say the track and its constructors are evil and heartless ... but for all I know, people in Kansas are so hurting for real sports car racing, even watching cars racing on a roval seems like an improvement.

Everyone not in Kansas pretty much thinks another simple roval is about as necessary as cancer, and since it is replacing some real road course on the schedule ... heft that club and let's go racing!

Are there any clashes with WEC?

I am trying to figure out the additonal drivers in the Porsche WEC GTE Line-ups.

Hopefully Lietz will be one of them.

I am happy to see that Patrick Long (although it was obvious it would happen) being brought on as Factory Porsche driver once again.

This is a solid line-up! They should be extremely competitive!

Yeah I think there's a couple - certainly Petit is a major one.

You can't be a full season driver in both series - so there's a gap in the WEC squads now.

Bergmeister, Pilet, Makowiecki and xxxx.

Holzer?

Le Mans line-ups will be really interesting. Really hopeful of a third CORE-run Porsche.

Surprised to see Holzer not continue - you'd have thought they would want to keep someone who has been running on these tracks since 2011.

Also, Petit is not a clash anymore, but unfortunately Spa is a clash with Laguna.

Just edited my post after realising there were four drivers left without a confirmed drive, so just the additional drivers left to figure out.

Also depends on whether Porsche would want their drivers running double duty at CoTA. With some uncertainty around timings of that race it might not be wise to gamble.

Those lineups are amazing. Very happy to see Long back in a factory seat, he deserves it. My mouth is already watering for the GTLM battles!

Also, since Colin Braun won't be in one of the Porsches, I expect to see him back in the Core PC car

I think Porsche are the GTLM favorites for the Daytona 24 win. BMW might be the team that will struggle.

And surely the lap times GTLM did in the test session (1 min 47 sec) should improve significantly?

I'm a little surprised to see Braun not in a Porsche since that's where he started but at least we'll likely get to see him make an LMPC look good. Otherwise - JEEZ, Porsche are serious about this, aren't they!

But having said that, GTD is going to be super competitive in 2014. Have a feeling it's going to be like GTC was in 2013 only with much more variety in cars and a bigger field.
