The Curious Stig asks about : Air Jacks

Can someone satisfy my curiosity here? With air jacks [the kind mounted to the car], Where exactly should they be mounted on a saloon car and in which configuration? 2 front, 1 back, 2 front 2 back or what? and how are they built in?

ta muchly

As with a table, three legs are more stable than four on anything but a perfectly flat surface, so you should use three.

Two at the heavy end of the car, quite widely spaced for stability, and one centrally mounted at the rear would be my advice (think where you would place axle stands). They need to be mounted to points on the car that are strong enough to bear the weight they will carry - chassis legs at the front would be a suggestion and a suitably reinforced area of floor at the rear. Not sure what you would do if you have a propshaft in the way - maybe off set slightly to the drivers/heavier side of the car - but something for you to figure out. Much easier to achieve on a front wheel drive car.
