BMMC N Training Weekend - 11 & 12 February 2012

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that I need to receive applications to attend our training by the very latest Wednesday 1st February.

Due to having to order extinguishers and bacon(!) I need to know precise numbers of those attending - it is unacceptable to turn up unannounced...

Details are here:

Andy, I'll be there to assist with fire training as usual. I see on the paperwork that there is fire training on both days, is that still correct and if so is it practical fire training on both days?

If you can use me in any other training role (and I dont mean being strapped up and cut out of cars) then please let me know.

Looking forward to seeing lots of you on 11th.

Not sure if we'll make it on time but have set the alarm clock (after nearly 9 months off work my body clock has reverted to an 8am natural waking up time)!

Back to work in a fortnight, though, so this could be just what I need!!!!

BTW: Why does classroom training have to start at such an ungodly hour, in the winter, when it is dark at that hour?

Hi - bit of a noob question (first training day ) - but where the instructions say "overalls are ideal, with a pair of heavy duty gloves and boots" does that fundamentally mean the same kit I wear to a day's marshalling (the Tangoman outfit as my son calls it)?

In a word - yes.
Some people wear their probans all day, I normally save them as an extra layer for when I'm about to go outside for practical sessions and just wear civvies when inside. But definite take all or your usual stuff and you won't go wrong.

Really enjoyed today, big thanks to ALL the trainers. Can't wait to get the season started now, I haven't been this excited in years, I'm finding flagging incredibly enjoyable and it's bought a lot of enjoyment back to marshalling for me, feel like I did on my first day again! Woop

PRS RH01 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Oulton today

Gents and Ladies

Thanks for today Colin and I gained a lot from our chat .
I have already sent an email to my committee expanding on the points raised .
I will come up with a plan for as many marshals as possible to drive my Formula Ford at my risk but you will have to give me some time to come up with the best plan . My first thought would be to use the MSV marshal day at the start of next year . I will talk to Andy but you are all welcome to put ideas forward .
Oh and i promise to slow for the yellow !

Peter
