Italian GP - contains spoilers
Bridgestone making the difference in the race - tricky in the early laps but much stronger pace in the cool conditions of the long runs.
Very well done to Barrichello. Good comeback from Schumacher, solid too from Button. Strong drive from David Coulthard - even being assaulted by Pizzonia. |

Schumacher spins, Barrichello on wrong setup and still a 1-2 finish....
I should've known... |

No need for cynicism - at least they had to do a bit of work for it this time - and Barrichello won fair and square.
The resentment of success on internet fora is breathtaking at times. |

They threw the dog a bone... RB wins.
More importantly we are in 2nd place!! JB did not have the pace to check out. He had a very good opening stint compared to TS. In fact it seemed TS had better times for the rest of the race. Good job by the team. I hope its only forward from here... Where did those red cars come from? Really!! 1 Rubens Barrichello (BRA) Ferrari 1:15:18.448 2 Michael Schumacher (GER) Ferrari 1.3 3 Jenson Button (GBR) BAR 10.1 4 Takuma Sato (JPN) BAR 15.3 5 Juan Pablo Montoya (COL) Williams 32.3 6 David Coulthard (GBR) McLaren 33.4 7 Antonio Pizzonia (BRA) Williams 33.7 8 Giancarlo Fisichella (ITA) Sauber 36.4 9 Mark Webber (AUS) Jaguar 55.0 10 Jarno Trulli (ITA) Renault 70.0 11 Ricardo Zonta (BRA) Toyota 78.0 12 Felipe Massa (BRA) Sauber at 1 lap 13 Christian Klien (AUT) Jaguar at 1 lap 14 Nick Heidfeld (GER) Jordan at 1 lap 15 Zsolt Baumgartner (HUN) Minardi at 2 laps 16 Gianmaria Bruni (ITA) Minardi out 17 Fernando Alonso (ESP) Renault out 18 Giorgio Pantano (ITA) Jordan out 19 Kimi Räikkönen (FIN) McLaren out 20 Olivier Panis (FRA) Toyota out |

I think its just the lack of pace of the rest of the grid that's making people get sick of the sight of Ferrari. They've become the Man Utd of the 90s.
At least the 'bridesmaid' as JA refered to him won though |

Great race, Schumacher drove the race of the season after his spin to come back and beat everyone but his team-mate. Good to see Barrichello win, though I would have liked the Ferraris to have raced at the end, would've been a great finish.

Great, crazy race - just confirms what we already know that we need more rain-affected races

Nice to see MS works a little bit more than usual...not bad for an F1 senior citizen...
Rubens got pole, fastest lap of the race, and won after a mess of tire choice...fantastic job ...and hey, how did they got out of that mess is simply a fantastic teamwork... JB could have won today if not for the tires imo... Very good race from my point of view... |

Pretty good race all in all, although I'm a bit disappointed that Jenson didn't have the speed to take it - with low downforce he might've been closer.

The last ten laps was sooooo exciting! I mean, golly, MS was pushing sooooo hard to pass RB. RB really held him off there, lap after lap of intense pressure.
Whew! What a finish! Mike |

At the moment Ferrari just don't know how to lose, a fantastic effort after they looked likely to just be racing for points early in the race.

If anything, the last 10 laps were an anti-cimax.
They were cruising to the finish.....so quite where this "intense" finish was, I don't know. Great race overall though. |

Yeah but with Rubens out ahead after the final stop there was no way that they would be allowed to race each other...

I think the main reason why it was a great race was the fact that the Ferrari team did'nt take control of the race in the early stages of the gp. Just think if they did they could have won that race by a lap!. By the way was yesterday the last qualifying session we will see live in the 04 season?

I know p2p, if we hadn't had dodgy weather to begin with, it would have been Hungary 2004 all over again (albeit with overtaking lower down the order).
Yesterday was the final live qualifying, that's correct. |

Unbelievable race, and an incredible finish by the Ferrari boys!
There isn't a team or driver out there, that could have come back to win this race like Ferrari did. No matter the strategy, conditions, or competition, you just cannot count these guys out, ever. The competition must be completely demoralized after this one. Really well done to Scuderia Ferrari! |

MS passing JB was nothing special. After all he was setting fast lap after fast lap. It seemed inevitable.
Ferrari have shown that they are in a league of their own. If the rules werent changing they could run this car next year and still possibly win the title. |
