Mark Webber has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Australian A1GP team / support

Well what can I say .......... Us Aussie are a very competitve bunch and Will Power did us proud in Rd1 we all though we would be in for a great show in year 1 of A1GP.......

Then comes our worst nightmare Christain Jones (what the hell)
less just hope his first will be his last ...........
ADR so far has done a good job so far (forgetting they let jones drive for a sec )
all said and done I think we have 3 main objectives this year
1. MUST beat the poms
2. Must beat our friends across the ditch NEW ZEALAND
3. 100% Must beat the Yanks

Note none of this will happen with Jones at the wheel
so ADR pls pls pls ring Peter hackett, Ryan Briscoe ,Marcos Cusso ,James Courtney
If the rumor is true kiss and make up with Will Power get Davidson in the car
Aussie Pride is on the line
oh and SACK Christain Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christian Jones drive in Germany will probably be his only one of the series.

He is the number 3 driver, and that's the only weekend the others were available for.

Hopefully Briscoe gets a few goes when he recovers from his accident. Same with Courtney. Can't wait to see what Davison can do.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the half-Will. the dust up with Power will surely damage them later on as a lot fo the names that people are throwing around won't be available (contractually) for this season.

Bart and Hackett might be the great shining hope.

Read Motorsport News today, the reason Power wasnt at Round 2 is now clear. He was in the States testing a Champ Car for Team Aus AND WILL BE RACING AT INDY NEXT WEEK. A1's loss (agree about C Jones, hopeless) is Champ Cars gain.

Cats!!! My copy doesn't arrive in my mailbox untill tomorrow afternoon.

Damn Bass Straight! For great justice! etc.

Hmm, interesting, that is a big blow for Team Australia, and now might be the time to be chasing down other options like Courtney et al.

Well thats gotta be good news for all parties (other than A1..).

Walker running a 3rd car at Indy with Power. Again, tough place to start...

think i'd rather view A1 as the Minardi of motorsport... advertising talent to the eyes of motorsport chiefs...

I would expect Will to even show up Tags at Indy. He's been super quick in everything else he's ever driven there.

Apparently they're using an old car for Power though so he might not be able to perform as well.

Team Jones primary mistake is this rotating drivers BS. The other teams with only one driver are getting the advantage of more testing, development and race miles. I believe Team Jones haven't locked in only one driver to enable Daddy's boy to be involved with the minimum of outcry over the fact he's far from one of Australia's top drivers.

Being passionate about motorsport and my country I find Team Jones effort insulting to what our country stands for, and therefore my support will only be a coursory glance at the weekends result untill the BS stops.........

Incorrect.

The plan was to run Power for the early rounds - but they had an agreement they'd not stand in the way of ChampCar/F1 opportunities.

Last weekend was unusual because Davison was committed to Bathurst, so they had to use the number 3 driver.

Davison will be in next weekend and for the forseeable.

Incidentally - France will rotate Lapierre and Premat round to round and it's not done them any harm.

Using an old car?? How can they be using an old car...the series has only run for two weekends and a handlful of test days!!

The engine has to last all season so that should cause him trouble...and as the cars are all identical it shouldn't be an issue!!

He means for the champ car with Walker.

Funny, I heard the opposite the other day. the car is brand new and they're worried that it will have "teething problems" when it hits the track.

Already in damage control maybe? I don't know why, I think he'll do just fine.

More of interest is the potential roadblock being put up by Messrs Gore and Walker. Apparently they aren't happy about Will P being associated with two Team Australia's!

I wish Gore would just write cheques and keep his mouth shut.

Yeah sorry, I forgot to quote, I was talking about ChampCars, but I've been told he's running an old Reynard but I can't verify anything or even if that's possible though.

Most likely they'll just roll out the old Reynard that they used for Bessie.

Unless it's been in use this year for Marshall.

Well, from what I've heard it will be a Lola. New or old, I don't know - but it will definitely be a Lola.

Hackett would have been a better man for Germany than Jones - and given that he spent last weekend twiddling his thumbs it is a bit of a disappointment.

Will be interested to see how Davison goes, considering he "gave up on open wheelers in Europe to focus on V8Supercars", and is presently trying to secure a drive in that series.

James Courtney would be the best man for the job.
