Was either a 6 or a 7. I went 7 because of the tense battle at the end, there were a couple of laps I thought Lewis might be close enough for a banzai down the inside but it wasn't to be, oh well.

I'm pretty sure that's the best Spanish Grand Prix I've ever seen. Still distinctly average when compared to most other circuits, but much better than usual.

I thought it was a 6.5 so gave it 6. If it'd been a 25-lapper ( ie the last 25...) I'd have gone for 9.....

Great start, boring middle and an anti-climatic finish...

5 - not awful...not great.

Looking forward to Monaco!

Intriguing from the point of view of tyre stops but no real racing. A couple of great overtaking moves, Alonso - Webber and Button -Alonso but the TV Director missed them both and only got to watch them because of the replay. 6.

I was quite surprised at the number of empty seats in some of the stands.

I gave it a 5. Not awful, but a little bit too much of a procession. Admittedly it was always going to be difficult for the Spain circuit because it is so aero dependent(hence the Red Bull being so strong there). DRS and KERS couldn't quite make it happen for Lewis when he was trying to attack Vettel, although that did at least add some intrigue to the final remaining laps.

Monaco + DRS = madness or bravery? It will be interesting.

Another 4 for me.

The tyre/DRS/KERS passing is getting as monotonous as the number of pit stops. I also think the two compound rule needs to go.

Best race of the year so far. Actual strategy and racing instead of a circus show like China, mainly because the DRS had no effect. Still nothing more than watchable though, a 6.

Gave it a 7, DRS useless and only a few passes. Admittedly better than past Spanish GP's but they were all 5's at best.

F1 racing at this circuit is a pointless excercise, its always a snorefest even with this years wacky rules it was still lacking in overtaking. LH did his best to make it exciting, even Button made some good passes, but as a race its just dull.

Even the GP2 and Porsche Cup racers couldnt overtake.

Why continue with this circuit.

Next race is Monaco, probably wont see any overtaking there but its an amazing spectacle to see an F1 car drive on that circuit.

Barcelona is just a bore as it does not allow for good racing due to the circuit layout.

Really dont know why you lot watch the Spanish Grand Prix. It was the best Spanish one Ive seen for years. I was off my seat for the last 8 laps and the strategies of the top teams were all being dreamt up as it happened. Ok, the DRS was ineffective, but at least the Red Bulls didnt run off, Lewis was in the hunt and Alonso caused a huge upset at the start. Down the field people had there own battles, the Spanish cameras "lost it" a cople of times, but thats not F1s fault. AND there was overtaking, more than weve ever seen in Spain. The only downside is...Id love to snap Vettels finger off..........

Best Spanish GP for a long time. So glad they got shut of those boring Bridgestone tyres.

Empty seats in grandstands = Spanish economy plus realistic prospect of Alonso winning race.

Good start but I went to sleep a few laps in as I had a bit of a heavy night last night !
However I did see the last few laps that were a bit processional and gave it a 5.

5 for me - back to the "passing in the pits" type process for the main players but a few good passes and Alonso's effort lifted it up to a reasonable level.

Something "Completely Different"

I was surprised that Mikey made it to 6th (albeit a lap down).

TV commetary here in the US didn't mention him other than the confusion in the beginning as to which set of tires he was going to start on. The TV images could have been a reason for that as our broadcast team was here in the US watching the outbound signal.

I found that race totally gripping. There was a battle for the lead the whole race, cars following each other very closely, and a lot of tension at the end.

these new rules (fake tires, drs) are making to much overtakes. what's the consequence? to banalize overtaking. nowadays a TV Director can't even keep up with the overtakes, much less giving proper replays. he usually arrives to the moves late, when they're happening or about to, robbing us of the thrill and the emotion.

I was watching one of those youtubes "top ten overtakes in F1 history", and thinking to myself: when someone now really does a great move (no tire outrageous advantage, no DRS advantage), a really great overtaking manouver, when that happens in this rules, how are we gonna be able to notice it? to distinguish it from all the others? they say it's making the races much better, with more action and emotion... totally desagree, it's impossible to keep up... this is not F1. F1 is hours of boredom with a pearl of excitement in the middle, and that's the beauty of it (always was), to support the boredom just so not to miss the good part.
they've ruined it and I hope they realize it soon so we can return to the GP with 2 or 3 real overtaking manouvers on it...
