SEATFreak should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Would it be sound logic to assume this?

Even with my limited knowledge of the mechanics of a touring car, I know that the reliability and performance of parts for a model must only have to get better, and so to have up-to-date and more efficient parts in a car of a year where the parts for that years model would not be as efficient, has to be a good thing.

So just as a recap we have three confirmed entries so far in Robert Dahlgren in a C30 for Polestar Racing, Victor Huggare who will race in an Opel Astra and Thomas Schie who will race for the Chevrolet works team Chevrolet Team Sweden.

I heard a news a few days ago that GM Europe will expressly sold the Saab concern. Are there any news from the swedish guys and what will happen if this come true. I thought the most develepment was GM based, The platforms, the engines, ...
And i think if this come true there is no reason for Jan Warnestad to race a Saab Team in the STCC!?

Well, Volvo has pretty much the same situation. Most brands start out with a common platform and engine line and then diverse from there. But if GM expects to get payed anything for selling SAAB (factories and all), the R&D teams as well as license to continue using the current platforms will likely be included.

Well, it was always likely to be a privateer team, so Im not sure how much things will change if there is a new owner for SAAB.

Hmm, I didnt think about that before. You might indeed be right.

I guess that is why we dont hear about VAG going belly up, they are thinking ahead and have things developed and ready by the time others even realize they are behind/in trouble. Vorsprung durch teknik...

I wonder where this will leave DMS and thier "SEAT deal"? Would VAG support DMS with SEAT support from the Swedish importer for SEAT at the same time as they support Tobias Johansson with a SEAT/VW deal? Or are DMS left out in the cold once again? Could DMS run it without support?
BTW, I drove against Alx Danielsson this weekend in a SLC event.

Ofcourse DMS can run without importer support, often the Seat support is a bought consultancy service from Seat Sport.

Show me the money!

I strongly doubt that any of the money from BTCC and SEAT is involved in this.

I would say that E.ON is most likely to be the major money factor.

No, not directly paying for the VAG STCC effort. But it might be a good reason for the sudden BTCC TDI dropout. They might eg be saving the money for something similar appearing in BTCC 2010 to what is (likely) to happen in STCC 2009.

Surely the Seat Sport UK money came from Seat (VAG) UK (not Seat (VAG) Europe) to be run as marketing for them

But they may be saving money for a new car in 2010 a Stedevil said.

IMHO, I do not think DMS is ready for STCC yet. They didn't show any speed at all with their Leons in JTCC, and the results in Carrera Cup haven't been what they should have been. But it might work if they teamed up with Nordic Fine Art and run Roger Eriksson in one car? Then they would have at least one car and some experience, better than starting off on a blanc sheet of paper. Roger and Alx would be a good combo, not that it will ever happen (Alx said he won't do STCC)...

Any reason why it won't be BMS with the Sciroccos?
