macca46 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Perkins congratulations

congratulations to perkins for their effort at the agp richos car is certainly fast now and all the people saying that 4 cars would hurt will now maybe think twice. Compared to fpr they looked very organised and proffessional at the agp and im sure it will roll on. I think they will demonstrate the difference how a very experianced team can work through whatever they need to work through. Good luck for the rest of 2004 perkins engineering.

I like the sentiments macca46.

The team is certainly a hardworking one (as are all the field) but for some reason seem to be able to do it all for a lot less money than some of the other boys.

What I always find interesting is to see the teamwork of a group of people, to see how they interact with one another, and whether they are able to act on their own, or constantly need direction from someone else.

LP's lads seem to do very well left to their own devices, with the 4 cars each with an allocated crew that works solely on that car. Which is how most teams do it, but each of them have specialists in different roles in each car, not a shared resource across a couple of them.

It remains to be seen how that handle a crash like LP's at Bathurst last year, and know the impact (haha) on the prep of the other 2 Castrol cars (the Toll arrangement has their own crew tending it...)

Interesting to see the team is still searching for a Technical Director as well There are probably 3 squads looking for someone in that role... hope everyone's contracts are secure

Larry and the boys are used to running that many cars. In the past they have had all sorts of customers cars in the workshop there. Not to mention the outside work they used to do for them as well.

What makes Richard's performance more interesting is the fact they very went testing before the AGP!!!

Are you trying to say that they didn't go testing before the AGP? If so I can tell you that they most certainly did. It was in the herald sun with the times, from memory I think Brighty was the quickest.

Actually, Dirk and Joe, Richo was speaking the truth ... CPR did go up to Winton but it was for a "customer handover" rather than a test day. Larry was delivering the brand-spanker VYs to Tratt and Longhurst, so what happens is that Richo, Tratt and Longhurst are allowed to do a handful of laps (five or so) in each other's cars. This is to ensure that everyone is satisfied that the customer is getting a product of satisfafctory standard compared to what has been promised (ie, a car identical to Richo's #11).

Therefore this does not count as a test day and in fact the CPR truck departed the circuit by 1pm.

I think where Joe is coming from is that the FPR boys didnt use a test day, yet they fitted major revisions to the front suspension, major changes to the roll cage, and engine tweake... so had a lousy AGP, and from the look of this weekend, will struggle. Again!

It was a great effort to keep Steven Richards up the front, great improvement from last year.

Interestingly I note that Castrol Perkins is now at Ferntree Gully not Moorrabbin - only about 5 mins from here - hmmmm might have to take a wander over there and see what the facilities are like...

You mean Larry has moved from the airport? Must be making room for some more tractors.

Why separate them? Does Larry hate that side of the business so much he doesn't want it in the same suburb?

They would take up room from engineering so get them out of there. That would be Larry's opinion

I think that Rod Nash (Longhurst's entrant) is based in FTG

FPR were just not ready for the test session, unlike CPR who never even booked a test session.
Come to think of it FPR weren't ready for the warm up on Sunday either, and unfortunatly apear to be unready for the seaason.
