BMC B-Series Tuning

Considering the abundance of parts available and the various makes/marques this unit has ended up in over the years, I'm curious about what are the alternatives for getting more power from the 1500cc(ish) B series engines these days and what sort of figures people are getting.

Aside from the obvious which would be replace block/head with the 1800...maybe I've answered my own question

Speaking mainly of road going cars so keeping some reliability in mind.

Are the period BMC Comps Manuals essentially still the benchmark today or have there been much further developments?

Thanks for that but been there, I'm already an MGCC member, etc... just wanted to see if there's a different perspective from the historic racing clan here

The only time I have been involved with the old B series was many moons ago, and back then the cylinder head porting was one of the most important to improve power.
However if you have a year to spare read this http://www.studdsey.fsnet.co.uk/mgbtunings.htm
