Didn't 3AW send someone out to measure the goal posts and found them to be within inches of the correct distance apart but we get your point.

As the policies of the AASA sanctioning body in general is one of inclusion for all rather than to limit what cars can and cannot race, is not the AMRC just following one of AASA's basic tenets?

To a degree - but when cars turn up at a meetig that haven't been seen before or with larger than life engines (ie engines never seen in that type of car) and allowed to compete on supposedly 'equal playing ground' it was bound to turn some away whilst pleasing others.

Except that a policy of inclusion will by its nature preclude 'equal playing ground'. There never was an 'equal playing ground' apart from if the car works, race it. So talk of 'equal playing ground' is perhaps misleading. What if someone brought along an unmodified Formula 1? Perfectly legal and perfectly able of lapping everything else.

This equal playing ground is largely a work of fiction.

And then seeing this start to happen starts putting off anyone interested in seeing the category race. Like everyo other category before it, as soon as you introduce a mongrel car that kills off everything else, you start to lose both credibility and potential fans.

Think Holden Monaro and Procar for the perfect example.

I went out for a bit on Sunday afternoon, and while the fields were certainly small (except Thundersports) there was still some great racing/dicing in most races I saw. I got some pics too which I will share when I get the chance

The race of the day was undoubtedly the top 5 future racers battling it out. Swapping the lead each lap and cars going from 1st to fifth in a couple of laps and then working their way back to the lead. Clearihan managing to fox the Win and was pumping his fist each time he hit the lead.
It was like watching a 125Gp race.

The new cars with the big wheels look pretty hot and the racing with them is sensational.
Totally agree with you there!

I'll put my money on BFC....

He'll sit there and say nothing until CAMS gives up......

As a hatted gent once said..... " He don't say much, but when he does, it's worth listening to"

Looks to be about 5 Formula Rs padded out with a couple of Formula Fords (Swift? Spectrum?) and some older F2s? Are F2s able to run to Formula R regs?

All those cars are Formula R's apart from the Howard Group Spectrum of Mostert. What defines a Formula R is the spec Golf engine in the back.

I've been told the OzBoss situation was created by the entry fees tripling to over $1100 since last season.

Is this a lie? Or even an exaggeration?

i thought that sounded expensive...until i found out how much the new "Australian Manufacturers Championship" costs

anyone else think that $3750 per round is a little excessive for production car racing?

How else would the organisers recoup costs when they cut the series back to only 4 rounds for the season?
