This what you get with a translator: Dams with Sudafrica, Farmers with Turkey? They miss fifteen days to the by of the collective tests A1 Grand Prix and the market franchigie / team / pilots is in ferment. According to as Autosport it brings, they have attended three new enty: Nigeria, Singapore and Turkey. Meanwhile the Dams would have released Switzerland and Mexico to focus only on France, winning of the title 2005/2006 and on the South Africa, orphan of the BCN that won't participate in the category. The West Surrey Racing will place side by side the United States, that the last season was with DPR to the New Zelanda. Among the novelties, the Arena Motorsport (English Btcc) that would manage the team India. In the operation Turkey should be involved the Farmers Motorsport with Tahinci. There won't be instead Portugal, that was managed by the team Carlin. Last edited by madmed; 24 Aug 2006 at 10:29. |

Italiaracing.net are reporting Gian Maria Gabbiani (Beppe's son; sometimes written Gianmaria[?]) will drive for Italy at Silverstone - alongside Gatto and Rugolo. Not sure if they mean he's replacing Bossini, or they're still mentioning Bossini as the other driver to test? Gabbiani's another strange choice as far as I can see. Hasn't seemed at all impressive in his Italian F3 and F3000 Int. Masters outings. Guess it's all to do with the Euros these guys are bringing to the team.
Also, Sean McIntosh and James Hinchcliffe will be apparently be testing for Canada at Silverstone. |

Surely at this stage of his career Unser Jnr would be slow.
The article also states that Herta and Giebler will be back. |

I don't know how much trust to put in the Autosport article actually as when it was first posted they had mixed up some of the countries and drivers! Although some of it is corrected they still have some driver names wrong. Anyway:
Team USA Al Unser Jr, Phil Giebler, Bryan Herta; Team France Nicolas Lapierre, Alex Premat; Team GB Robbie Kerr, Darren Manning, Oliver Jarvis; Team Germany Nico Hulkenberg, Michael Ammermueller; Team Brazil Tuka Rocha; Team Canada Sean McIntosh, James Hinchliffe; Team China Conffu Cheng; Team Indonesia Ananda Mikola, Moreno Soeprato; Team Ireland Michael Devaney; Team Italy Michele Rugolo, M. Gatto, A. Pieguidi, D. Valsechi; Team Lebanon Graham Rahal, Basil Shaaban; Team Malaysia Alex Yoong, Fairuz Fauzy, Nick Irwan, Aaron Luis; Team Mexico Salvador Duran; Team Holland Jos Verstappen; Team New Zealand Chris van der Drift, Johnny Reid; Team Pakistan Adam Khan; Team South Africa Stephen Simpson, Tomas Scheckter; Team Switzerland TBC; Team Czech Republic TBC. Malaysian 3rd and 4th drivers are actually Aaron Lim and Nik Iruwan. Singapore is missing although their entry has been well publicised. The Chinese driver's name is also mis-spelled, it is Cheng Congfu, one time McLaren F1 tester (not very seriously I don't think) and currently sitting third in UK Formula Renault driving for Manor Motorsport (not bad at all). |

Translated from Italiaracing.net:
Turkey confirms the entry, in list Greece and Sweden Meanwhile Turkey has officially furnished his/her own adhesion to the championship guaranteeing the presence to the first competition of Zandvoort. Owner is the Lodos Racing Inc that also enjoys some financings of the government. They have attended, as already brought, also Nigeria and Singapore even if it is not understood who the pilot of the African nation could be. Today you/he/she is also learned that they are interested to other two entities to enter: Greece and Sweden. Confirmed the withdrawal of Portugal instead while the destiny of the team Austria is not known. To Silverstone they were present winds monoposto for as many teams / nations. The organizers count to reach the 24 cars to Zandvoort. |

by the way here's a trick to work out who the 06/07 teams are... use the website address. www.A1teamfrance.com - gives you a holding page from Omnis networks - as does A1teamsweden.com - however A1teamnorway.com does not exist at all same for nigeria. So this suggests Sweden (and some others try yourself) have an entry.
Nigerias site for example is not likely to go live for another 6 months. |
