At Sportsland Sugo yesterday, Andre Lotterer won for 2nd time at this season & keep at title contention together with Ishiura, Kazuki Nakajima and JP de Oliveira

Although at next race (Suzuka with double header) a driver can get 18 pts at most, I think only Ishiura & Nakajima will be the strongest title contender (not meant JP & Lotterer are impossible for it)

Richie Stanaway to do the Super Formula rookie test at Suzuka next week.

So he and Vandoorne are attending and others, such as Felix Rosenqvist, have also expressed an interest in the series for 2016. I haven't really followed the championship that closely the past few years, but if drivers of this quality were to get seats I would definitely pay more of an interest

While I agree that Stanaway and Vandoorne would be excellent additions to the championship, I would say that Super Formula has had drivers of that calibre for a long time now.

Almost but it has lacked the depth of quality that it enjoyed 25 years ago.

Looks like that is going to change.

Aah sorry, I should perhaps be a little clearer.
I meant that having top quality is nothing new for Japanese racing. Super Formula has for many years had excellent drivers.
Drivers like Lotterer, Duval, Kaz Nakajima, de Oliveira, Motoyama, Treluyer.
And they are just from the past half a decade.

But, like chunterer said above, Japanese single seater racing has lacked strength in depth rather than lacking actual talent a the top end.

Hello, Piritos.Acording to Super Formula Official news, Loic drives in this test.No one knows why he drives in this test.I guess the reason.This race series change the tire maker from Bridgestone to Yokohama in 2016 season.This test is first time for all team run with the Yokohama tire. It is a very important test.So team Le Mans needs experienced driver.Kamui Kobayashi's team mate Ryo Hirakawa isn't bad driver. He won two races in Super GT(Japanese top GT category race) in 2015.But he never gotton a podium finish in Super Formula.I think this team wants a target of comparison.I'm happy if Loic come again SF in 2016.Super formula will determine the race schedule after WEC schedule announced.Super Formula races held to avoid WEC race weekend.So Super Formula is the attractive for racing drivers who want to participate in both series WEC and Super Formula.

Looks like Yuhi Sekiguchi's prospect is promising at Super Formula.
I think next year will be his time to step up from F3.

At Super GT (GT500) he showed his good pace but unfortunately his potential is still limited by relatively uncompetitive car (compared to other top RC F teams)
