Racing sounds

F1 Racing's February issue has a free CD atached! It includes such great classics as "V10 in Action 1", and "V10 spinning for fun".

I may offend people here - but does any find it audible? Or just a loud, deafening noise?

I can just about cope with a free one - but who actually spends money (I think it's about £9-99) buying one of these?

One year, when I was in Montreal for the Canadian GP, I went out to a bar - extremely crowded with young people- and what was on their sound system? No, not the latest dance hits, but, at high volume, the sound of F1 cars during qualifying (no commentary).

Very cool...

Well, I would rather listen the sounds of Panoz LMP car, Winston cup racer or the Top Fuel dragster, to say it shorter: a growl and rumble of a V8 engine.

I'd much rather listen to a SuperKart but that's just me - Panoz isn't that a remedy for migraines ??

Panoz is the cause of migraines.

I love the sound of the screaming motors. I must go to Indy. Every year I say I will but dont.

Big block dragasters are nice too. Those I have seen, heard and felt in person. When they launch it feels like they knock the air from your chest. The only motors that I find annoying are rotaries! A "****el" at 12k rpms is like piercing your eardrums with screwdrivers.
I even love the sounds of the compact dragsters. Be it an all motor 10 second Honda Civic or a 1300 hp twin turbo NSX; motors are like music to me.
I even like the sounds of the J series Toyotas!!

That's strange, rotaries sound like music to my ears (from a little distance it does )

It was like that at the campsite at Spa this year. All you could hear was the sound of F1 cars blaring out across the site at 1am.

Priceless...
