I really can't see that happening even though I would kill for it to happen. The Japanese don't forget if someone offends them any time soon, so unless the ITR gets a change at the top, like I said, unlikely. That or they come back bowing dogeza and apologising like mad men. |

I'm sure the Japanese will love to see Motoytma back in Le Mans driving a Nissan. Plus, they love strangely shaped things ^_^

I don't think there is anything stopping a German make from building a GT500 car is there? If BMW are really interested in SGT, then it may happen.

Not sure how welcome they'll be but still viable I guess.
On a slight tangent, I want to hear more about the rumblings from the GT300 guys about GT3's, any news on upcoming BoP for the GT3's? It's just a little cheesy that GT300 cars are being beaten soundly in their OWN category |

It seems they have to make up a big difference in HP. If the BOP of the FIA is being used the GT3 cars are making power closer to GT500 levels. As for the SGT guys being mad at the DTM guys, I thought it was more along the lines of the organizers of DTM upsetting them, not the Makes.

before the site update, there was written in gt300 section the weight and restrictor used for each car... in 2011 the GT500 cars had still an around 490hp of power output, i have little doubts that some gt300 car like the 458 were developing more than 400hp! so i guess that isn't a so hard problem if gt300 and gt500 car have the same poweroutput; we all know that because of less weight and hugely better aero a gt500 car will be at least 5 seconds faster than the best gt300.

Why is the Super GT (GT500) as the teams have only one car?. I would much rather that two car teams.

in 2008 nismo team ran with 2 cars; however you have to think to the managment of GT500 cars like the one used in motoGP! ex. nismo builds the gt-r gt500 and uses one car as factory car for the official team (the #23 car of nismo team) then year by year lease the cars (and nissan drivers too) to some other trusted teams that ask the leasing for the car, these private teams run in the season using the main sponsor budget (the #12 uses the budget given by impul/calsonic etc...). Same happens with toyota lexus, they have an official team that uses 2 cars in 2 different teams (the tom's #36 and le mans team #6) and some other private team that lease year by year the sc430 GT500. As happens in motoGP, usually the cars used by official team are the first to receive the updates that some race later will be used also by private teams. Honda uses an other managment way, until some year ago honda had the super aguri team as referment/official team but now they support impartially all private teams that do the leasing for the HSV-010 (as you could see, this year all honda cars use new bodykit and new rear wing; last year at example the new front bodykit and swan neck rear wing were used by the #36 car first and some race later by other lexus cars).

If Grand-Am can't do a crossover, I think I'll be disappointed! DTM and Super GT should invite Trans-Am instead of Grand-Am... And speaking of GT3 cars, I hope the JAF can lower their performance so that they have the same parity as GT300 cars (and a certain DP prototype), but not lowered enough to have the same performance as those Grand-Am GT cars. And I'm talking about the Audi R8 competing in Grand-Am. |

Was it wet qualifying? Or mixed conditions? Looks like Dunlops tires work well (pole in both classes), as does Bridgestone! That was a weak point last year for them wasn't it?

I see. I edited my post. Looks like Dunlop's tires are good in the wet, both classes took pole on their tire. Will it stay wet for the race?
