Bit biased but Hey!

Best Championship has got to be The Kuhmo BMW's. Close, Interesting, CLEAN racing. Always full grids..even at the most obscure meetings e.g. Croft, Pembrey, Croix etc. Most of all NICE CARS!!!!

BRDC Historic Sportscars
very close racing and due to the tyre restrictions never short of hair raising action. The race is always the highlight of the meeting they are at and often the headline act, sure I am biased but I have raced in other club series and I think that this is the best so far. Adam although I love Jaguars the idea of a load of XJ's going round is too reminescent to banger racing!! On a more modern level I am interested to see how the Britsports series develops as the idea of Thundersports re emerging would be great

Biased like everyone else but if they weren't any good I wouldn't be working with them - Legends.

Why? Best racing in the UK due to balloted grids which gives everyone a chance of a win. If you can't win in a heat then the lesser scoring drivers start at the front in the final.

There aren't too many National Racing categories where you can also compete in a World Championship

Great looking cars too.

OK so they're not the sleekest looking racers out there, but thats part of their appeal. People see them and say "oh dont they look funny?" and then you watch 30 of them going into paddock hill 4 abreast and the same people suddenly change their minds.
The fact that they are so hard to master makes them challenging to the drivers.
Quite quick, alot of fun, and cheap(ish)

I havn't seen every other formulae, but marshalls always say how much they enjoy the legends, and most of them have seen more racing than all of us?

Maybe the marshalls and spectators here could give a slightly less biased opinion of what makes the most entertaining viewing?

OK then. A totally unbiased view from a Championship Co-ordinator follows :
North West FF1600 tops the lot, followed by anything with "FF1600" in its title.

Sadly the Walter Hayes meeting (which was a non championship round) coincided with an all expenses paid race in Macau and in my case end of season emergency repairs.....
next year the BRDC have some excellant meetings up their sleeve including talk of the possiblity of a "coys" style festival

I,ve found a web site for the focus championship,its showing the championship positions for the year, ie 1st, 2 nd and third,guess what the person founded it won,2004 dates soon???? Still at least they will not have a problem finding a venue for there awards presentation,any phone box will do! Seriously how can they get a permit, i thought weak championships get the bums rush?

Ok, since we've been challenged, as a marshal I think the Legends have been up there with the best this year. Plenty of action, most of it sideways, and the majority of it clean. Can't ask for more. Sure the cars look odd, but in a nice way.

Also still like Caterhams, Minis and Tuscans - anything close, really. The 750MC sports cars have been good too - those awesome Morgans battling for supremacy against the Porsche have been mightily spectacular. Oh, and Ascar is getting better - if they can get another 10 it will be tremendous.

Legends and Clio's...a highlight of my BTCC viewing on Motors this year, and also my day at Dongington for the BTCC....had the legends going about 12 wide into the old hairpin, then the Clio's came along and chucked themselves at us....a pile of them on the first lap, then one a lap for the next few....

I also stood right next to an angry Clio crashee with my camera, was about to ask him if I could take a pic...but he was gesticulating angrily at the marshals or someone out there at least....thought it was best to leave him!

But the Slipstreaming Clio's from Thruxton was one of the best races of the year, bar none! Edge of your seat stuff!

I could'nt agree more about the Thruxton Clio race this year.The dice between the first three was out of this world. Again,this would not have been possible if it wasn't for Motors tv's coverage.

Leg ends on the circuits or the Pick up trucks at Rockingham on the oval both very close racing and clean racing too more importantly. Both lap after lap have you thinking how did they all get though without touching..

Worst series - SEAT cupra absolutely terible driving standards won't marshal their meeting next year don't wish to see drivers badly injured one or more will be very soon in that series.

No race longer than 8 to 10 laps. No practice longer than 15 minutes. By all means have a second or third race however. (Ducks as hordes of endurance Radical drivers congregate menacingly.)

Strictly speaking I am answering the question "What racing has given you the most watching pleasure this season?" I don't follow series or championships and don't really care who has won. But whoever is running the Caterham championships seems to be doing a pretty good job. Now if they had the contract for new mudguards, they would be set up for life.)

Absolutely right. And the chap at Thruxton did get injured and was very fortunate as it was not to be worse off. Deplorable that there does not seem to have been any action taken. :confused:

From my personal point of view as a club level competitor, I think that the BARC InGear Saloon Car Championship takes some beating. Racing is close but usually very well behaved and is often interspersed with some interesting machinery. Basically everything from a very tasty MK1 Escort Twin Cam to an ex-BTCC 4WD Audi A4 Quattro!
The competitors and officials are a pretty friendly bunch too!

BARC Formula Saloons - the fastest Saloon car championship in the UK.
