It should be the same this year, Falken, Bilstein, H&R and Gran Turismo are event sponsors and all cars are required to carry the stickers of the event sponsors. So you end up with 99% of the field carrying stickers for two different tire makers.

Thanks! I'll have to cheer on the Falken car if I watch any of the N24, even if it is only Falken Europe.

Just registered to this forum so I could get some VLN updates in a language other than German! And to ask some questions about VLN, as I've only recently started going to the races (and fell in love instantly!)

Cheers everyone, see you all in two weeks!

Those drivers did drive the LFA before and did much faster times (8:40s). Times in the 9:00 range is off pace for the car from just last round.

Aston Martin to compete with an Hydrogen-V12 powered Rapide on the N24H in the experimental class E1-XP.

http://www.endurance-info.com/versio...cus-17749.html

Looks like the perfect replacement for the P4/5 Competizione.

The P4/P5 is an extreme GT, competed by the top 10 or top 20 of the overall Race.
The Aston Martin is 4 door without aerodynamic elements and I guess with high weight.
I think underperformed with a GT4.
What did happen to the P4/P5?

Because they feared collisions with other events. So they changed the date for the 24h race from the Ascension Day (I hope it's the right translation) to Whitsun.

I meant in terms of expectation (not performance), but not so much, the Rapide will be gas powered sometimes, so "It's cheating" we will have to wait to Le Mans to see an Hydrogen only.

Schubert crews

No.19 Dirk and Jorg Muller, Augusto Farfus and Uwe Alzen

No.20 Dirk Adorf, Claudia Hurtgen, Jens Klingmann and Martin Tomczyk

With DTM on the same weekend in Brands Hatch(who thought this out??) Tomczyk and Farfus are gonna be very busy that weekend.

A plane has been chartered to take everyone from Brands to the Ring.

I find it very strange that no Ferrari GTE or GT3 in the entry list.
There are 19 Ferrari in the BES, 17 in the International GT Open, 6 in WEC, 9 in ELMS, and a lot of more in the others GT championship in Europe.
I mean there must be more than 40 Ferrari racing in Europe and no annotated in one of the three most important 24 hours races. I find it very strange.

zanfo zanfagni has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Usually only expert and addicted german teams (with some recent exceptions like belgian MVDS and WRT, who are teams however supported by a german manufacturer) join VLN and 24NOS in the top classes. How many german teams do you know use a 458? there was hankook farnbacher in 2011, but the team dismissied the 458 GTE and thier pair of 458 GT3 some time ago. Vitaphone/AFCorse ran a 430 GT2 in 2010 and they were not so bad. Last year there was a modified 458 challenge that ran some VLN round in SP8 but nothing special. SLS GT3 are very numberous in VLN and ADAC GT, recently in GT300 too, but not so numberous in other championships like BES or gt-open.

The Ferrari of hankook farnbacher in 2011 was very competitive!!
The modified 458 challenge is racing now (VLN and 24 Hours).
I understand that only germany teams join VLN and 24Nos, but I do not understand the position of the rest of europe teams. If you have a very competitive car such as Ferrari 458 Why you do not participate in one of the most important races of the continent? AF Corse is racing in USA, WEC, Asian endurance races and Australia, why they are not in the Ring 24?

It was competitive in the single lap, but had also a smaller fuel tank than rivals. Is not a secret that high performances GT cars need a special suspension and chassis reinforcement work to run on the nordschleife. The 2011-2012 458 GT3 had a strange suspension system that was letting the car to use wider tyres on rear but paying it all with a considerable high ride height. This doesn't look too good for a "trip on 'ring". Anyway if BMW solved mechanical and driveshaft problem suffered by the whole z4 pack during 2012 24NOS, they have good chances to win, being the car that better suits to the track in my opinion.

I do not know that cars need a special suspension and chassis reinforcement work to run on the nordschleife. Now I understand why is not Ferrari in this race.
Thank you for the explanation.

If you increase the downforce with the diffuser you have to change the suspension and the chasis to support the increase in the forces. This was a big issue in the late 70s with the ground effect. Last year DTM Mercedes also had a lot of issues because the suspension couldn´t handle the downforce and the car was bouncing in the fast zones.
