Because they have a Japanese owner? All three Japanese F1 teams are based in Europe but still Japanese.

Which European team?

Are the Rays wheels on the Dome any good? How are they compared to wheels from O.Z. and BBS?

Bil588 - I'm sure if you look around the internet you'll find out which team. I'd rather not say.

Regards the wheels - no idea - dunno how much they cost/weigh. but they didn't fail so must be ok.

Thanks Sam, that was a good read.

If they really want to win Le Mans, they should really make a little more effort. They sound like the least involved prototype manufacturer despite being such a big company. It all makes little sense.

Its all about the big M. I don't think Le Mans makes any money for Dome but Hayashi's passion means that the come back over and over and over.

If you can't guess I'm a bit of a Dome fan...

VOLK wheels are the WHEELS in Japan. RAYS,G Games, and a few other brands are the sub divisions of Volk Racing Wheels. ALL the big Supergt,FNippon and other series use Volk wheels. There as good as any other top line brand. There in F1

Judging from the large number of Japanese media at the race, there must be plenty of interest in endurance racing in Japan, so I'd expect them to find a decent sponsor. Then again, companies seem reluctant to provide budget to the sport. It's actually what amazes me the most after running around in the paddock the last two years. It all relies too much on private funding.

Then it must hurt you even more that there most recent attempts have been half-hearted at best. It would have made much more sense to sit out one year and return with a properly developed S102. Right now, especially thanks to the P2 car, they are a bit of the laughing stock of the paddock. That they most certainly do not deserve.

Le Mans is big in Japan, LMS has good TV coverage and since the 80s the big manufacturers have driven more and more interest to it. However you see what happens with privateers there (read JLMC grid numbers) so the gap is hard to fill, pecially if you are up against SuperGT. Dome has chosen to be a Lola sort of operation (not racing in Japan btw!!!) but like Sam says, without the big M it's hard to do. Rather than a sponsor maybe getting some paying customers like Henri did could help the development. I think this is more of a passion driven initiative than a business operation and as long as this is the objective, well, it will stay like that! And remember RfH is racing Dome's car, they do not own it.
