Didn't Neil Crompton do some of his early races in this car at Amaroo?

Crompton was in Mikes RX7. Sponsored by Castrol at the time. Famous bit of footage of him taking out Russell Kramer in the XD Falcon on the last corner in it.

CAMS may have that sort of thing on record. Surely, the car's owner would be in posession of the log book?

yeah you would think so wouldent ya?
i bought the car last month. the guy i bought it off new nothing of its history, previous owner or log books. i contacted cams told them the story. they said they can not help me unless they no the cars original log book number. plus i want the original log books just for the sentimental value.
Last driver i no of who owned and raced the car was Donnely back in 1989. Then it went completely off the radar until present day.

Here are a couple of Racing Car News articles from 1980/81 about this very fast, but rather twitchy car!
