Ferrari reshuffle
With the death on Friday of Umberto Agnelli, Fiat has appointed Luca Montezemolo as its new chairman (they are also now seeking a chief executive, as the previous one resigned in protest at Montezemolo's appointment!). It is now rumoured on Autosport.com that Jean Todt will succeed Montezemolo as President of Ferrari and Ross Brawn may become sporting director in Todt's place, perhaps also retaining his position as technical director.
This, then, is the first real test of Ferrari's strength in depth. Will a reshuffle distract them or will they continue to stroll to another pair of titles? My money's on the latter. |
