Not a bad move for Gardner, he was on the way out and was well liked in Japan. Seems like he's holding station for a guy who wants to move up...

The JTCC is awesome, James is a fantastic driver and will do well in this series, remember almost every manufacturer runs a factory team in this series, and there have been several drivers go back to europe from Japan. Irvine to name just one

It would be nice if some of the top level Japanese F3 teams were to join the local circus on occassion, to give some reference point as to how the locals are travelling

Does the Japanese Championship run current spec cars, or one cycle behind like in Australia.
Unless it was run under similiar rules, there wouldn't be alot of point to it. |

they run the current f304 cars with factory tuned motors. Theres a asian f3 series that run rules that I think are close to aussie f3rules?. with being one cycle behind.

It seems that in Japan if you sign up for Formula Nippon they throw in a GT program as well.
Remember that Ralf Schumacher and Pedro de la Rosa did Japanese GT when they were competing in F Nippon. Getting experience in different categories is no bad thing, especially when you are being handsomely to do it. If only Europe offered fully funded drives (outside F1) for young hopefuls. |
