I think Bruce Jones hears all the news very early on so if he is commenting on Team Finland then I think they can't be far off.

I wouldn't be that surprised about Canada. In Shanghai I was told it was two teams that "havn't really done anything". Czech Republic seemed to be good a year ago with sponsors and the Brno race, their sponsors seem to have since disappeared though. Canada on the other hand have had no sponsors, as far as I know no TV coverege in Canada (correct me if I am wrong on this point) or not really a sniff of holding a race there.

Any word of Mexico city race??

A1GP Mexico i heard around here is already working to have a team assembly for next september, Gustavo del Campo , who was a very succesfull technical director with several mexican teams and with Adrian Fernandez during the last CCWS and IRL seasons when he got victories has been hired by the team looking already for the next season, the drivers will be more likely David Martinez and David Garza

Who is going to operate the Mexico team??, is a fact that Craft Competition from South-Africa will not return, so this leave the door open for that former CCWS organizations like Forsythe-Petit or Walker could enter with Mexico...of course if Julio Jauregui (seat holder) has enough $$$ to hire the ex-CCWS teams services...let's see, have my fingers crossed...

A1Reporter - is there any chance of post, or even something close to it. Also, do you have any information about the Australian round of A1GP, and where and when it will be staged?

Team Mexico have told me this personally (was doing some very rare PR for them at Brands)

The A1GP in Oz is set to be round 7 of 13 (second after x-mas) but very unlikely to be at Eastern Creek. A1 are seriously considering Adelaide. If that fails then it will be elsewhere. Don't worry though Australia will have a race!

But the chances of it being in New South Wales are all but gone now, I would say . It is really disappointing . The weather ruined the event in 2008 . What exactly is the reason for Eastern Creek losing the event? Poor crowd attendance, A1GP looking to expand in other areas of the Australian market, etc.
If it was to go to Adelaide, I would be worried if it was staged on the same weekend as the V8's. Second-string support event, anyone?

I did an interview with John Wickham at Brand about the new car - quite a bit of info in it - I need to transcribe it but it should be on the site within 24 hours.

So a speculative calendar might look something like

Race 1 Italy Mugello
Race 2 Netherlands Zandvoort
Race 3 Germany Sachsenring
Race 4
Race 5 China Zhuhai or mystery circuit
X-mas Break
Race 6 New Zealand Taupo
Race 7 Australia Adelaide?
Race 8 Malaysia Sepang
Race 9 China mystery circuit /Zhuhai
Race 10 Mexico Mexico City
Race 11 Brazil Curiteba/Interlagos/other Grade 2 circuit?
Race 12
Race 13 GB Brands Hatch

Possible venues for Race 4 Indonesia Setuil, or one of the Middle East circuits
Race 12 Might be somewhere in Europe?

Very interesting!

From what was mentioned before I would say Sachsenring as race 12.

Races 3 and 4 could be Malaysia and Indonesia (or the other way around). It was like that in season 2 or not?

Someone also mentioned that Brno listed A1GP on their own calendar but that seems to be gone now.

NOT BAD!!! Races are pretty much all there but in the wrong order. This is the latest draft I've seen

Race 1 Italy Mugello
Race 2 Netherlands Zandvoort
Race 3 Sepang, Malaysia
Race 4 Zhuhai China
Race 5 Jakarta or Sentul, Indonesia
X-mas Break
Race 6 New Zealand Taupo
Race 7 Adelaide/Eastern Creek or another venue
Race 8 Durban, South Africa
Race 9 Interlagos, Brazil
Race 10 Mexico City, Mexico
Race 11 Beijing, China
Race 12 Brands Hatch, Great Britain
Race 13 Sachsenring, Germany

Last two are expected to be held the other way around though

Lam Pak,

Beijing isn't the same circuit as last time. Still a street circuit, different part of Beijing.

If it happens it will make Bernie E's eyes pop out.

P.S. There were lots of Chinese government officials in pangaea in Shanghai, so it has the necessary government support.

It is a circuit based around the Olympic Stadium in Beijing same as the planned street race in Sydney for season 2 that fell though meaning they went to Eastern Creek instead.

Oh well not too bad at that... I didn't think Durban was going to make it, other wise I would have had it in there which would have probably shuffled some of the other ones to nearer that provisional list that you put up.
And it might have helped had I compared it with this past season for part of the running order rather than doing it from memory

The A1 GP has started to put dates on for next season so...

Race 1 Italy Mugello 19-21 September
Race 2 Netherlands Zandvoort 3-5 October

i think a1 gp is taking risks again to make races in the beijing roads. the last race was a fiasco and i think a new event will be the same. beijing people as no experience on racing organization and the marschals havent any practice. last-time they reject help from macaugp people and then it was caothic. the problems will be the same and beijing is just looking for olympics! a1gp will need much luck! they should learn why their outlook on life (lucky vs. success) has a direct impact on their ability to find good circuits.

Street circuit in Soweto... hmmmm

If Durban goes... Why not go the other direction and go Oval racing and Phakiza?

From a previous vague memory I recall that Mondello has the level of international license that is one below what's needed to run F1, however (in my opinion the track configuration is far too technical / narrow / twisty for a grid of cars like A1GP.
