fentoozlerdan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Toyota

How big a challenge do you reckon Toyota will be? Will they qualify for their first race? Will they score any points, podiums or even wins? Will they have your support?

Dan.

They will struggle. 11 seconds off the pace is a long long way...

I think I'll support Toyota when they enter, but I'm not sure if they'll ever be succesful.

(I Ripped this off Planetf1 (again))

The test at Silverstone before the GP was marred by power steering problems, the team being 11 seconds off the pace suggested that they were behind on development. The drivers felt that they could not push for lap times as they had no confidence the inconsistent power steering would work.
Okay...

Meanwhile Bernie has spoken and so Toyota will obey the test ban! Or else!!!

I reckon they'll do what BAR did in '99.

They ran something like 400 laps at Hungary last week with best times in the 1.20's so they're picking up speed and are for sure very reliable. Don't forget that what they're doing is real development work, not something like the GP-friday's. When other teams are out for development work they're very much off the pace as well, as you're not aiming to set in scorching laptimes, but to gather sufficient data from the thing your doing the development run for. Well hence the name.

The car looks pretty cool and the sidepods feature an interesting configuration of the radiator. There's also something special about the airbox but I haven't figured out what exactly.

So I am not to worried they'll be fine with this programme. Don't forget they're really starting from scratch which is the most difficult way to force your way through the grid. They deserve some credit for that don't you think?

Yes the airbox does look weird

Well it's quite thin and there's only the front half of it in the picture.

Dino, by the picture I can see most (or all) of them are non-japanese... that means that there are japanese engineer and mechanics only for the engine and/or software/telemetry and related stuff ????

I believe there has been significant progress on the car since they began testing, and I think they may begin next year at the back, but should make midfield by the half way mark.
It's a shame that there is not a lot of technical information available on the cars specs....if there is, perhaps someone can tell us the site............
I don't know what kind of pressure a chief designer feels, but Mr. Brunner will no longer be able to toil in relative obscurity (sorry Minardi fans!). This program should really be a measure of his talents. I hope they are successful...the more I look at the car, the more I like it.
