ATF should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2004 Expectations?

What is anyone most looking forward to in 2004? Seeing a particular driver or team out on track, the new TV coverage on ITV or one of the new cars?
I can't wait to see 3 races and with reversed grid, we may have a VX on row 5!!

Also any predictions for the surprise of the season? I think Proton could be a surprise and also the VLR 307s (if they enter)!

Wouldn't it be kind of silly to debut a new car like that, put development into it, and then quit on it, or are they looking for that really, really bad "f" word that's been used so plentifully lately?

Vauxhall not running away with all the wins & live TV coverage.

VX were very good at pitstops and this helped them a lot last year, so perhaps we'll see them getting caught and passed for the lead.

big battle for the independents trophy, maybe Matt to win the championship outright and the independents.

The return of Jason Plato.

A closer championship, not just vauxhall team mates battling for the title, and the first win for an ETCC spec car in the BTCC.

Not sure about an ETCC winning a race outright, the only factory cars look like being SEAT's, which weren't front of the grid pace in the ETCC amongst same spec cars, so the gap to a leading BTC car like a VX Astra or Honda is going to be even greater IMO.

Prepared to eat humble pie if it happens though!

It can't be any worse than the ETCC. The commentators never have a clue what's going on there either!!

I am expecting very little of 2004 if I'm honest. I hope I'm wrong!

I'm looking forward to BTCC 2004...I hope someone can beat those Vauxhalls at last and I don't really care who. On the thought of VLR, I know Vic Lee won't give up like that - that 307 was designed by an ex-F1 designer so I expect that car to come flying out of the pit's at some point during the season.

I'm looking forward to this year. It's going to be different, IMO the BTCC is in a transtional phase again.

Even if VX do win 3 more titles, I just hope we get some good close racing and lots of different winners and I'll be happy!

Being a big slob, mostly...

Putting Motors TV on in the morning, and watching every race that takes place that day...not budging from the couch until it's all over!

I'm NOT looking forward to the races that clash with F1 though....ack...what to watch,....what to watch!

Actually, that's right, I have Sky +, so BOTH!

I doubt that the F1 and BTCC races will clash EXACTLY though. I thought that was the whole point, so ITV could cross directly from F1 to BTCC and keep some of the F1 audience for the Tin tops...

Or am I just being optimistic?

This season seems to have the most F1/BTCC clashes than ever before! Usually there are only a couple but just typical when ITV starts to show live coverage!!
