COTA seating recommendations

Hopefully Ill be there. Im thinking reserved seating, but do you have to purchase it beforehand or can you get it from the ticket booth? Speaking of that, how close can a cab get you to the entrance? Im sure I can manage a walk, but I imagine its a distance from the parking.

I can't imagine that all reserved seats will be sold in advance. You should be able to buy them at the box office. The cab stand isn't far from the main entrance. Closer than cash parking.

Was in Austin over July 4th. No race but fireworks at COTA. Two hours to get there and three hours to get back, we hear, and it is only 10-12 miles away.

The six blocks south of the river on South Congress (SoCo) has a lot of funky stores and restaurants. Wahoos is tasty and has some mighty fine cold brew on tap. Great pizza at Pizza by the Slice and good Italian in several places. A few BBQ places but not the standouts.

Interestingly, the cars park old Le Mans style along the street (you back in pointed at an angle). I'm sure that not too many people would consider that 'Le Mans Style' but it adds a bit of interest.

Our room had a special rate of $100 a night. We saw the F1 and WEC/TUSC prices and the room was $385 @ night. Ouch!

The Austin music scene is just off North Congress between East 5th and 6th streets.
