adamp_uk should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Too many Vauxhalls will make it a one-horse Race?

2002 see's a return to touring cars of Honda, but with SIX vauxhalls on the grid, it looks as if its turning into a manufacturers cup.
Its a good thing that there are plenty of teams interested but it might be nice to see some variety on the grid eventually.
At this stage (second season) of the new touring cars i wouldn't be complaining as it will expand the sport further but eventually i would like to see some other big names in touring cars on the grid e.g
Renault, BMW, Ford etc

What do you think?

i think the 2nd season will be even better then 2001.its starting to get much better by the week.its slow at frist but more cars are joining.the barwell cars are for independents cup.wasnt there 4 vauxhalls in 93? most of them were caught up in crashes in mid field,it might happen again....

A decent quantity of the quickest chassis on the grid can make for cracking racing.

I don't recall complaining too much about 1988-90, when a multi-class BTCC was dominated by squadrons of doorhandling Sierra Cosworths and BMW M3s.

Ditto the Aussie V8 series. Don't hear many complaints about that and how many manufactorers do they have?

Yeah but if we have 10 or 12 really competitive cars, and they are form different tweams, that's the important thing. Not that a lot are Astra's. Varietyu will continue to come as time goes on.

I think to keep the BTCC 'afloat' at the minute it just needs the cars. I think that in 2003 we could see even more manufacturers and more cars per team!

I reckon that even if the Vauxhalls are dominent, as long as they race hard, it should still be enjoyable. When the Sierra's were dominent, there were great battles between Rouse & Soper and Rouse and Gravett. And the battle between the Egg Sport Astra's and factory Astra's weren't too bad in 2001.
