storyline should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Orrcon estimate damage to their car

at over $100,000 according to a press release they just issued:

Quote:
Such was the impact on Bargwanna’s car that it was severely damaged and will require the front and rear chassis rails to be replaced.

It is the second time in as many years Larkham Motor Sport will endure a major rebuild following an incident between two drivers that could have been avoided. During the opening round of the Championship in 2004 Mark Winterbottom was one of several drivers to endure $100,000 damage when Paul Dumbrell and Cameron McConville collided at over 200kmh triggering a multi car pile up.

“It is the second time in a matter of years that we have had to endure the heartbreaking and tiring process of rebuilding a $300,000 race car because a driver has simply made the wrong decision,” said Larkham.

“Right now we have nine days to repair our car for the next round of the Championship, after an extremely long weekend at Bathurst the crew got back to the workshop last night to begin the process.

“In an estimate I believe the damage to our car will be around the $100,000 mark and very lucky not to be a write-off.”

Ho hum!

It happens, and will probably occur at Surfers as well. There's no escape from concrete walls.

I suspect Ambrose's Falcon may be looking somewhat sadder, I think.

And also say Paul Dumbrell and Cameron McConville making the pile up, I think they don't even watch the sport

Is the damaged car Frosty's from this season & last? It has already been molested in Adelaide, and grated in China... another wreck of this size would see plenty of damage done to what must now be a very old & tired shell

Does this help?

As I look at my massively damaged race car I can’t tell you how much I wish Murphy accepted that he had lost that corner and either yielded or gave some racing room and we could have avoided the carnage that our team now suffers the consequence of,” said Larkham

The statement wasn't cleverly disguised - if you read the whole thing...

Owner laments Murphy's choice

That's just a re-write of Orrcon's press release.

Ford team owner Mark Larkham laid the blame at Murphy's door for Orccon Racing's estimated $100,000 repair bill incurred as Jason Bargwanna was caught in the pile-up following the crash.

But the Holden driver laughingly dismissed Larkham's comments as biased.

"He would say that considering Stone Brothers supply him his engines and he's a Ford team, so what do you expect?" Murphy said.

Is it just me or has Murphy been very defensive the last few days. He seems to have spoken to everybody to try and convince the world he is innocent. I wonder if he has convinced himself yet?

the engine/tech support is also strictly incorrect, LMS buys engines from the SBR/888 partnership so are mearly a customer.

Larko didn't have to add that bit about Spud neither, obviously he felt strongly about it.

Larko lost a lot more than just the accident repair bill... the franchise income alone would hurt, so would the pressure on the franchise licence slot to be in the top 30 at season's end.... and indeed the position where the Orrcon boys will be placed in the pitlane next year.....

These things arent all dependent on Murf's crash, but they have been negatively impacted by it.....
