There was a report in Endurance-info that they was going to run with one car on each competition. Maybe I'm wrong because I´m not the best french speaker in the world

I'm with you about the Emil Frey

Isn't ART Grand Prix joining the series this season?

We are on January, First race later than the Endurance series in April.

You should really start to bother if at the beginning of March we don't have half grid (And the sprints usually are later than the endurance anyway).

A measure of the sucesfulness of a series tends to be the advance in the anticipation of the entry lists, e.g. 24h of Le Mans.

Team Villorba Corse purchased a Ferrari 458 GT3, one possible program for 2014 is Blancpain.

Wow, I like it, normally I would think that SRO's Sprints is more challenging to "physically-challenged drivers" because here tend to be more Pros than in BES endurance, so the average level may be higher, but three hour races maybe is too much, (Like a stint in 24h races) to concentrate as much as the drivers changing. Welcome to the ex F1 Star Zanardi.

Will be interesting to see what they do about the driver changes. But then, I guess, there is a mandated emergency exit time in WTCC as well and if he didn't have a problem with that, he should be fine here as well.

He means, in case of explosion inminent he must evacuate the cockpit fast enough.

Especially in ferraris.

Actually I meant both
But if he has to be able to leave the car quickly in the case of an emergency then he also should be able to get out of the car in a reasonable time during a pitstop, no?

No need to be so strict maybe, it's his dream too, not allowing him will be too cruel, In my opinion if he passes al safety concerns, its far enough.

You needn't force that periodically (every pit) if he recognises is a complicated action for him. Moreover maybe is not aethetically perfect and not needed at the same time.

I don't understand this discussion. He has driven 4 of 5 years in ETCC/WTCC and it was no problem, why should it be a problem now?

With so fast Pits? (Less than a minute)

Maybe GT3 Machine (Inside cockpit) configuration (vs ETCC/WTCC) to him then.

I'm guessing tough.

Exactly. Not only because he can handle himself physically, as he has shown competing in other sports, it's a sprint race, as someone else noted, there are no driver changes, getting out during pit stops is a moot point. I would think his hand driving mechanicals he used earlier would be a hindrence to another driver.

From the article:

Zanardi, who lost both of his legs in a CART race at the Lausitzring in 2001, will drive a specially equipped BMW Z4 GT3 car that will allow acceleration through hand controls. He will not share the car with a co-driver, thanks to a new regulation for 2014.

I'm sure they can just apply some kind of timed stop as they'll have to do for any one-driver car. They obviously have something in place or else it wouldn't have been announced.

Looking forward to seeing Alex race.

The Autosport story claims that driver changes in the Sprint series take less than it takes to change the tires in a normal pitstop procedure. Recalling some pitstop videos, I suppose that's quite right, so Alex's mandatory pitstop should be mandated to be tires only (with the regular procedure).

I'd imagine his getting into and out of the car isn't the problem, it's making the updated controls inside the car work for a co-driver.
