I heard that lotus will be returning to gt racing in the new gt3 category.

Do you mean internationally, and with a new car? Because we've seen the Elise in GT3 before - it was in the British GT's Cup class in '03 and '04 (which is now GT3 anyway), and I think there was an Elise at the Spa 24hrs a couple of years back...?

Are any of these GT3 entries factory backed?
They remind me of certain Grand Am announcements, implying more factory support than they actually have. |

I don't think the exact details have been decided yet. It ill be along the lines of six cars a couple of teams. I doubt it'll be great factory involvement, although the factory seem keen as they think that the rules will allow a light car to be competitive.
