Filiberti out / Sarrazin in!!!
Here's the latest on the jungle drums. Filiberti is set to be replaced by Stephane Sarrazin for the Monaco race. When it's confirmed, remember it was the Paddock Spy who told you and that you read it here on F3000.com first.

Funny! According to the german newspaper "Motor Sport Aktuell", it is Varano the one who'll be dropped and Robert Lechner will take this place. Maybe it's all just nonsense gossip.

well, filiberti tested for the psn formula nissan team this week in place of brian smith, so he could be going there. he wouldn't last long unless he won ever race, because brian's only done 4 races (2 events), finishing 5th before being disqualified in both of them, and they're already sniffing around for another driver.

That Would Be Great
I would be great if Sarrazin could come back but he'd have no chance what so ever of winning the championship.

Filiberti out of F3000
What a shame for Nicolas Filiberti, when he starts improve his form on F3000, he moved out of his seat at Prost Junior due to lack of funds. Yes, I said "lack of funds", because PSN had debts with Prost team and the company needs short his overwhelmed budget.

Er... I want say PSN need short his overflowed budget, because that they decided decline the support to Filiberti and only retain the backing of teams supported by Lincoln Sportsgroup (the four cars on the Euro F. Renault) and GD Racing (on F.Open Telefonica Nissan).
Also it will be good for Lechner if he can made the debut on F3000, also it's a good opportunity to Sarrazin. But times aren't easy on Prost Junior Team... mostly when in this first races the team didn't made much sucess... |

woah, hang on, so why did the psn f. nissan team test filiberti last week then if they have huge debts? and how come they can afford to have at least one really underfunded driver?
my brain's going to explode.. |

Okay..here's the deal. Sarrazin is in at Monaco only. He is there as an attempt to 1; secure points for the team, 2; finish the race, 3; avoid any expensive damage to the cars tub before the official FIA test at Hockenheim next week. NB: Should Sarrazin crash and damage the car, don't come back at me with the quote. I'm just passing on information - not driving the car

Paddock Spy,
Thanks for that information, I am sure he will do well if that is the case. Prost Junior have a very good team with experienced engineers and Sarrizan has a Pole and a Win under his belt in F-3000 already. He didnt fare too well for Mclaren Juinor last year but then again neither did Tomas Enge (except for his race at Hockenheim) and look at him now!!! |

About PSN
Someone told me PSN overflowed his budget, and at now only paid to Prost GP only a quarter of the money they allowed to put on French team. This item was one what forced Mazzacane to left the F1 team and it was probably Filiberti did the same, because PSN will narrow his backing only by teams supported by LSG like F. Renault teams and GD Racing on OFN. Not is Filiberti who was underfunded, so is (probably) his main sponsor.
PSN is backing South American drivers, and thanks for many reasons, for example some of the personnel working on the company (like "Carburando", an Argentinian enterprise who made the motorsport coverage) the drivers are suite to be Argentinians. Also there can be Mexicans, like Luis DÃ*az who had the opportunity to join the Prost Junior team, but finally he didn't found enough budget and finally left the idea. |

Shame
Shame it's only for one race. Look, Sarrazin at 4. I don't think Filiberti will ever qualify himself in the top 12!

You are right about Filiberti and his qualifying probability, but it's some logical when on team Prost Filiberti didn't have an experienced teammate. His year with Lavaggi on SRWC helped more him than the actual experience with Prost Junior. A team with both rookies, more if isn't strong, will have difficulties to perform good results (and if not, please look at team Petrobras Jr. or Ganassi on CART).

just thought you might like to know that filiberti is scheduled in for the next f. nissan round at psn instead of brian smith. where this leaves him in terms of the f3000 season i don't know. looks like sarrazin was really impressive...
