Dave S should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Fastest 500 in HISTORY!

Race average 197.995. Old record I believe was 189.9?

Good stuff!

It's actually 507 miles if you go by the 2.029 mile lap. I wonder if they ever thought about reducing the number of laps to 247 so that it's 500 miles?

Oh well, bring on Mexico!

The fact that everybody was flat-out, with mandatory pitstops and no fuel conservation, made this race one to remember! That's what oval racing is supposed to be!

before the last two yellows, they were around 202, yes. Red flag didn't affect, because I guess they stop counting.
