It was last year and I figured it would be this year but it doesnt appear to be at this point.

There are airport circuits the major US single seater series has raced on which I favor over Edmonton. However, since none of those are currently on the schedule, Edmonton is welcome as it brings in a kind of variety to the schedule which would otherwise be missing. And the new layout looks very much like an improvement over the previous one. Sure, it's no Burke Lakefront Airport nor Sebring but it can be good. We'll see.

I'll be at the race ! heading to Edmonton on Thursday.I have seats in grandstand one at the pit entrance,and a pit pass for Friday,Saturday and Sunday.This will be my first Indycar race. I'm quite excited !

It certainly does bring the variety but it will never be like Cleveland. I hope Cleveland does return one day.

Tons of rain that resulted in standing water on the track has delayed today's practice to late afternoon in Edmonton.

There is speculation that the teams may not even see dry conditions until tomorrow's qualifying, so they would basically be guessing on setups for a circuit they have never driven in the dry.

there is no free practice today as that rain did not go away. the plan for saturday is 2 45 minutes free practice sessions follow by the normal road course qualification routine

It stopped raining around 7 pm. Tomorrow looks better -- clouds have moved off to the east. Calling for 19C and part sun tomorrow, which should get rid of the standing water on track.

In other news, there is a rumour that we will be using the local mosquitoes as the flyover on race day.

Well, since practice was rained out yesterday in Edmonton, they will practice today at 11:40am & 1:25pm Eastern time. Both sessions are 45 minutes in length. Qualifications will be as scheduled, 5:30PM Eastern.
