andrewc should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
If Middlehurst had won the McLaren Autosport wotsit prize, and got the £100k cheque, he would have gone into a European Formula Renault series. He didn't, so that plan was kyboshed.

He contemplated F3 Cup for a while and I agreed terms to buy a car but pulled out of that deal and decided that BRDC F4 was the best option for him given his available budget.

Proof that the Renault alternative is too expensive perhaps?

I think its a shrewd move by Chris & his dad. If he can have a good season, preferably winning the championship, then he is in the frame for a 2nd crack at MABA.

We did a similar thing with Scott in 2011 returning him to British FF (Duratec) after he'd been runner up & a MABA finalist in 2010.

Likewise our decision was also budget driven but we knew a strong season would likely warrant a 2nd MABA finalist selection. It's a risk but it's one worth taking and in our case it was pretty much Hobsons Choice.

Chris has time on his side as well. I wish him well.

Seemed a thoroughly nice guy when I met him briefly last year, so I wish him well too. I'd be pleased to see him get two titles on the trot like Scott.

Some more driver signings - SWR have added Nicolas Beer to their roster while the Brazilian team have signed Gaetano di Mauro who apparently carries support from Rubens Barrichello.

Mexican karting champion, Rodrigo Fonseca will drive in an expanded Douglas Motorsport team. Motionsport appears to drop down to one car to accommodate this.

According to the report he is. Along with fellow Escuderia Telmex member Menchaca focusing solely on BRDC F4 this year, that's quite a coup for Palmer's championship.

You've got to find the budget at some point though. This is a massive prize for the champion and I'm sure the profile gained from a successful test could help chances of securing sponsorship.

I think this series looks really strong again this year, there are a lot of exciting drivers in it and strength in depth as well.

I see that Lanan have signed Indian Arjun Maini (karting/JK Racing Series graduate). Meanwhile, I've read that Falco Wauer will be racing for Enigma.

The Brazilian team completed their line up yesterday with an American karter called Dan Roeper. Looks like there are a few more announcements to come as well. http://www.formula4.com/teams/2014-teams.aspx

I understand Falco owns the car that he started last season with Kelvin Burt's squad. Enigma ran him in other categories and ran him at Snetterton for the winter series.

Hillspeed will run Mexican karter, Alfredo Zabalza; whilst Jordan Albert will run with SWR as opposed to Team O'BR as originally announced. This means that there is an additional car up for grabs (apparently, it is the ex-Matt Bell one). Also, KBS and Motionsport have 'merged', and have been renamed (imaginatively) KBS Motionspeed.

Ehem, that'll be KBS Motionsport, not speed

MGR have completed their line up with Dutch driver, Michael Claessens, whose career thus far is limited to a few Lotus Elise Trophy races (winning the Brands Six Hour race with Sam Hancock).
